Maritime Security Bulletin and Advisory Re: The Yemen Houthis Fired a Hypersonic Missile into Central Israel, (Houthis Threaten More Missile Attacks for October 7th Anniversary) (No Damage or Injuries Reported) Issued by: Sanborn Analytics Date: September 15, 2024 Contact: [outreach@sanbornanalytics.us] | Phone: +1 (617) 539-6114 Media Credit: Israel Times (see link) --- Event: On September 15th, 2024, at approximately 6:21 a.m. local time, a surface-to-surface ballistic missile was fired at central Israel from Yemen by the Iran-backed Houthi forces. The missile triggered sirens across central Israel, from east of Tel Aviv to Modiin, at around 6:30 a.m. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) made multiple attempts to intercept the missile, though the outcome of these efforts is still under investigation. According to Houthi sources, the missile reportedly achieved hypersonic speeds, reaching Israel within 11 minutes. Maritime Impact: Sanborn Analytics advises the maritime shipping community, as well as armed naval forces operating in the region, to exercise heightened caution in the following areas: - Eastern Mediterranean - Red Sea - Bab-el-Mandeb Strait - Indian Ocean - Gulf of Aden Given the increased volatility and missile capabilities of actors in the region, particularly in proximity to critical shipping lanes, vessels transiting these waters are advised to maintain situational awareness and ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed. The potential for missile attacks and hostile actions in these areas remains high. Recommendations: - Route Planning: Review and adjust navigation plans to avoid areas of elevated risk whenever possible. - Emergency Readiness: Ensure all crew members know emergency protocols, including missile detection and interception procedures. - Coordination: Maintain contact with relevant naval forces and maritime authorities while operating in high-risk zones. Sanborn Analytics will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary. #maritimesecurity #israel #hamas #israelhamaswar #nationalsecurity #homelandsecurity #iran #hezbollah https://lnkd.in/eyEGARpM

Strengthening Security: U.S. and Gulf Cooperation Council Address Regional Threats "The region is experiencing one of its most challenging periods in recent years," stated a senior defense official on Monday. The official highlighted the pervasive threats from Iran and its proxies, citing 175 attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan, and over 90 Houthi attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea since October. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which includes the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait, met to discuss these threats. The U.S., represented by officials from the Joint Staff, U.S. Central Command, Naval Forces Central Command, Air Forces Central Command, the Missile Defense Agency, and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, participated in working groups on maritime security and air and missile defense. In the maritime security group, discussions focused on Houthi attacks using anti-ship ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, UAVs, and unmanned surface and underwater vehicles, which jeopardize navigation and mariners' lives. The U.S.-led "Prosperity Guardian" mission, with over 24 participating nations, aims to counter these threats. The integrated air and missile defense working group addressed the significant missile launches by Iran and its proxies on April 13. The successful defense against these attacks underscored the importance of regional cooperation and integrated defense systems. The discussions aim to improve U.S. and GCC interoperability, enhance early warning systems, and ensure regional peace and security. "We're stronger when we act together," the official concluded. #Defense #Security #GCC #MiddleEast #MaritimeSecurity #MissileDefense #InternationalRelations #RegionalStability

Maritime Security Bulletin and Advisory Re: The Yemen Houthis Have Fired Multiple Ballistic Missiles and Drones Toward Eilat, Israel (See Sanborn Analytics Updated Assessment of Houthi, Hamas and Hezbollah Military Capabilities in The Eastern Mediterranian) Issued by: Sanborn Analytics Contact: outreach@sanbornanalytics.us Phone: +1 (617) 539-6114 Date: July 21st, 2024 Subject: Security Advisory: Recent Houthi Attacks and Ongoing Military Actions in the Eastern Mediterranean Sanborn Analytics issues this maritime security bulletin and advisory to inform the maritime shipping community and the armed naval forces at sea about the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean region. On July 21st, 2024, Houthi fighters launched two ballistic missiles and multiple drones from Mokha, Yemen. The missiles were intercepted by Israel’s Arrow 3 defense system, designed to neutralize ballistic threats. The interceptions occurred outside Israeli airspace and Maritime EEZ, but sirens were activated in Eilat, Israel's southernmost city, due to concerns about potential falling debris. Eilat has been a recurrent target of Houthi missile and drone attacks. This incident follows Israel's recent major strike on the Houthi-controlled Hodeida port in Yemen, which was a retaliatory measure for a deadly drone attack in Tel Aviv early Friday morning. Key Points: - The Arrow 3 system successfully intercepted the missiles before they could reach Israeli territory. - Eilat remains a high-risk area due to previous and ongoing Houthi attacks. - Maritime operations in the region should be conducted with heightened caution. For further information and updates, please refer to Sanborn Analytics' prior warnings regarding maritime travel to the port of Eilat and our updated advisory on Houthi, Hamas, and Hezbollah military capabilities in the Eastern Mediterranean. Media Credit: Israel Times ( see link) Sanborn Analytics continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates as necessary. #Recent Developments in Maritime Security: *Red Sea and Gulf of Aden* In a concerning escalation of military activity, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the execution of two operations targeting vessels in the strategic waters of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. According to their statements, the operations targeted vessels associated with Israeli interests, as part of ongoing geopolitical tensions and a stated blockade. 1. Targeted Vessels : The operations focused on the oil ship "SOUNION" and another vessel "Sw North Wind I", both accused of violating entry bans to ports in occupied Palestine. The SOUNION was reportedly hit in the Red Sea, now at risk of sinking, while the Sw North Wind I was struck while navigating between the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. 2. Tactics and Technology : The Yemeni forces utilized a mix of naval assets, uncrewed boats, ballistic missiles, winged missiles, and drones, indicating a significant capability in hybrid warfare tactics. 3. Continued Strategy : The Yemeni Armed Forces have expressed intentions to continue their naval blockade and operations against what they describe as aggression, highlighting a persistent risk in these crucial maritime corridors. Implications for Maritime Security : This escalation directly threatens the safety of commercial and civilian maritime activities in these busy waters, highlighting the need for heightened security measures and comprehensive risk assessments by shipping companies. The strategic nature of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden as global shipping lanes accentuates the potential impact on international trade and energy supplies. Recommendations : - Increased Vigilance : Shipping companies should maintain a high level of vigilance and stay updated with real-time intelligence. - Route Planning : Consider alternative routes where feasible and closely coordinate with naval forces present in the region. - Emergency Protocols : Ensure that crews are trained for emergency situations, including potential attacks. This situation warrants close monitoring, as further developments could impact a wider array of stakeholders in the region.

Day 91 of the Red Sea crisis. The Houthies want to escalate the situation further. Today there was another successful attack on a merchant vessel. The UKMTO reports a vessel in the southern part of the Red Sea having been struck by a missile causing some damage. Crew is reported to be safe and the vessel is continuing. US forces report a total of 4 missiles having been fired from the Houthies – 2 towards the Red Sea and 2 towards the Gulf of Aden. In addition, US forces engaged 9 missiles and 2 drones on land in Yemen. The leader for Houthies have stated that they are going to attack vessels further out in the Indian Ocean in order to attack the vessels which have been diverted around Africa. It is unclear whether they have the capability to do this, but should they have such a capability it would be a rather extreme escalation of the situation. Given the distance from Yemen, targeting vessels going in a straight line from the northern top of Sumatra down to South Africa would clearly be a stretch. Vessels calling ports in the Middle East and Western India are within closer range. And, just a thought, could they perhaps be planning to launch from ships in the same way that Somali pirates for years have used "mothervessels" for pirate activites? In that case, at least such launching ships would be legitimate targets for naval forces to engage. In addition, they also claim to have hypersonic missiles – these are missiles flying at up to 8 times the speed of sound and are extremely hard for defenders to intercept. A test of hypersonic missiles by Houthies have been reported by a Russian state media, hence whether this is true or whether it is deliberate misinformation for propaganda purposes is presently unknown. In summary, the Houthies have today clearly stated their intent to escalate the situation significantly. Whether they are practically capable of this is unclear – but let us keep in mind that 5 months ago no-one envisioned the current scenario as being possible either.

I double downed about the impediments due Red Sea attacks and links to global inflation. New advancements reveals how Houthie has warned to expand its self & further infilterate vessels who are using the African route as well this calls for broader involvement & intervention. All things considered Europe and US are expecting rate cuts 2nd half of the year with consumer impulse to rise and retailers will do well to keep guard on logistic cost & it's imperative that Feds should be cautioned on inflationary impact that can be caused due to logistic bottle necks...the strength of consumer buying behaviour will be further abated should there be another rise in inflation..
