Healing Through Creation: Bladesmithing for Veterans in Duluth 🇺🇸 At 23rd Veteran, we know every hero's battle is unique. That's why we offer more than just one path to healing. Our Bladesmithing Program provides a 5-week outlet for veterans who find solace in creation. This program is only on Sundays and is ideal for those who can't commit to a full Recon program or prefer a different approach to healing. The need is great. We have a waitlist and limited funding to expand the program beyond its current 8 participants. With 3.3 million veterans struggling since 9/11, programs like this are vital. Your donation can make a difference. Help us provide more paths to healing for our veterans. Donate today and be a hero to a hero. We are excited to kick off Freetrail's 3rd annual Memorial Day Fundraiser supporting Wounded Warrior Project. To date the FT community has helped raise over $7,000 and this year we are hoping to go bigger. We encourage any brand in the trail/running/outdoor space who will be holding a Memorial Day Sale to consider a donation to this effort. Memorial Day of course was originally a moment to honor those who have served their country and did not make it home. Not the unofficial kick off to summer. Or 40% off anything. This isn't meant to shame a company holding a sale. We get it. But please condisder a donation out of your profits. As a reminder this was originally born out our friend Ari Sonnenburg's annual tribute to his friends that he served with in the US Army. This year his effort is a big one. A 75 hour vision quest through the Netherlands to see how far he can go. Every day, 58 injured veterans and their families sign up to receive critical services and support offered by WWP. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, warriors and their families will never pay a penny for these life-changing programs. How can you participate? Oh how many ways! 1. Donate if you are able to. 2. Get your employer to match the donation if that's a perk that they offer. 3. Spread the word on social media with your friends and family (maybe a repost here?) 4. If you are connected to a brand in the outdoor world encourage a donation if they will be offering Memorial Day Sales. Let's encourage them and not shame them but remind them what this holiday is really about 5. Support Ari. Are you connected to a shoe brand? We are looking for a brand to donate shoes and gear to help him with this effort. Any leads are appreciated! 6. Go out and do your own adventure and tell us all about it 7. Host a podcast? Mention this effort! Thanks in advance. Here is the link to our fundraising page - https://lnkd.in/gA8PStTz

On this special day, we want to take a moment to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. We are forever grateful and will remember what you did to keep us safe. Here are a few ways we can recognize Memorial Day: • Moment of Silence: On Memorial Day, our Veteran’s Employee Resource Group asks you to consider pausing and observing a moment of silence and reflection. • Share Stories: Memorial Day offers an opportunity to learn about the courageous individuals who fought for our country. • Support Charitable Organizations: Consider organizing a charitable initiative to support veterans or military families in need. Whether it's fundraising, volunteering, or donating, we can make a positive impact and show our support for those affected by the loss of loved ones. I continue to see work as so much more than a job. When we observe how people work, we recognize there are endless work styles, motivations, preferences, structures, management, and behaviors. And when analyzing CAREERS there's added complexity, each unique to the individual. It is often overwhelming (and packed with pressures) to navigate our careers. I am constantly seeking to understand my trajectory and the aims that will bring the most satisfaction out of my career. My first profession was full of consternation over not feeling "ready" for the next role. A 2LT commissionee (straight from college) is placed in a role of immense responsibility with zero experience to supplement it. Placed in a position of influence over people with decades more experience in the field- it challenged me to appreciate that everyone has to start somewhere- even the colonel and the general. They have to start with a confidence in those around them to build them up and teach them and show them what REAL progress is as a professional and a leader. The people that are making the most impact are those that are less concerned with their future trajectories (to include myself) and those who are willing to walk patiently with people at earlier stages in the process.
Thank you Margaret Bellinder, BS, MS for your beautiful testimonial about our program! As we remember our fallen heroes this Memorial Day, let's also support those transitioning to civilian life. Coming soon! Veterans Day donation matching Stand-To Match Day **Next Monday, November 11, 2024** Stand-To Match Day provides an opportunity for growth for participating organizations that strive to do good works and an opportunity for the community to support these causes. On this day, donations made through the Armed Forces Community Foundation to participating funds will receive a 50% match that can be used for their most crucial needs. The Patterson Family Foundation will award up to $70,000 to AFCF for dollar per dollar raised during match days, with up to $35,000 saved for upcoming community enrichment project opportunities and up to $35,000 for participating organizations. Fundraising goal: War Horses for Veterans is seeking $20,000 in funds to assist us in building a new barn. Our current barn was built in the late 1800’s and has been updated however, lacks the room, storage of equipment, and feeding supplies to meet our current needs. With the growth over the last several years, our addition of more horses and equipment has been steady with the demand of our programs. Currently, we have been using temporary housing in the lower level of our property to house horses. This structure is exposed to the elements all year with open portions of each stall for air flow. The temporary stalls are not ideal, which has caused us not to use all the stalls available due to the deterioration of the structure. Help Razom is back with another massive fundraiser and a challenging task for 2024 - deliver 2000 IFAKs to Ukrainian soldiers by the end of this year. So far, we've assembled 600 IFAKs using funds from recurring donations and previous fundraisers, but we need your help to complete this critical mission. We’ve already spent around $54,000 on assembling and logistics for the first batch. To deliver the remaining 1400 IFAKs, we need to raise way more additional funds. These funds will cover the cost of purchasing components and logistics to get these life-saving kits to the frontlines. We are thrilled to announce recent donations of $5,000 from Selfreliance Association and $1,250 from UMANA Foundation, bringing us closer to our goal. Thank you for your generous support! Why IFAKs again? The answer is simple - IFAKs are consumables and need to be refilled daily due to injuries and battle losses. Ukraine still faces a shortage of IFAKs, and we deliver them directly to the frontlines. We kindly ask each and every one of you to join our cause and support this vital fundraiser. Every dollar matters, and every small donation can help save lives. Together, we can make a difference. Slava Ukraini! Donate now: https://lnkd.in/gF_K6AVe
