What system do you use to weigh and control bulk materials through your production line?
Accurate weighing is critical in the manufacturing process because it ensures the quality of the final product, reduces waste, and improves efficiency.
There are many examples for batch weighing, including-
🔷 Feeding a mixer with solids according to a specified recipe
🔷 Initial weighing of raw materials
🔷 Unloading smaller batches from big bags
🔷 Measured conveying and weighing to ensure batch quality
The best weighing method depends on the type of product being weighed and how accurate the measurements need to be. More accurate batch deliveries may require a gravimetric system like our CONWEIGH system which combines weighing and conveying.
In general, there are three possibilities for a weighing solution on site -
1. Weighing at the product pick up (e.g. big-bag unloading)
2. Weighing of the vacuum conveyor (CONWEIGH)
3. Weighing of the final unit (e.g. barrel, container)
Batch weighing and loading of bulk material is achievable through the Volkmann CONWEIGH system. Our CONWEIGH Vacuum Conveying and Weighing/Dosing systems measure both the incoming and outgoing material flow. It gives you a vacuum conveyor with fine dosing function that gives a performance of up to 99.7% / 99.9% precision (depending on material condition and installation).
The CONWEIGH system is used for dosing weights of 2kg and above. Typical for vacuum conveying, the transported material is released discontinuously in cycles. The maximum dosing capacity is defined by the transportation capacity of the vacuum conveyor, for CONWEIGH this is up to 4 t/h.

💲 Savings Breakdown: That’s a $3.70 savings at 31% for a ~9-ton coil. Yes, 31% PER COIL! Calculate the number of coils produced an hour, a day, a week, a month, a quarter, a year... and the savings add up very quickly! What could your company do with that type of savings per day, week, month or year!?
✅ Reality Check: When adjusting the number of turns to 32, the cost jumps to $16.70 for material. I’m excluding cases where stretch material is used at 3x the material per coil (Shown here: https://lnkd.in/gtwbJyxh: Timeline 1:28-1:45 total wraps around the coil is 41, I counted. 😊) However, with TurboPak® Tubeshape material, the cost remains at $8.20 per coil.
