I just finished Day 1 of the Air Barrier Certification training. We learned about why buildings need vapor & moisture barriers. We covered the different types of applications for air barriers, the products that are good solutions and how they work together on a project. I’m definitely going to be a better resource for architects, GCs, and contractors after taking this course. Are you thinking about getting Air Barrier Certified?

#WORC2024’s second day is our Operational Day and serves as the core component of our conference. ✈️ Here’s what today’s timings look like: Today’s sessions run from 8:30 to 5:35. Coffee breaks will be at 10:30 and 3:30 with a break for lunch at 12:30. Today, two very important events at the same time: #irf2024 congress organized by International Road Federation (IRF) in Istambul and #vyodeal congress by Asociación Española de la Carretera (AEC) in Barcelona. In the first one, our CEO Ibon Aretxalde gives a conference about the use of assets management to improve the Road Safety. In the second one, Amaia Aretxalde Ugartetxe, customer sucess manager, will show examples of Regional Administrations doing very efficient monitoring of traffic signs, road markings, safety barriers and evaluation of the condition of the pavement, in a cost-effective way.

Do you ever feel like this at a conference? I think we all do at least a little, but honestly, there is no reason to: - Are you nervous because you don't know what to talk about? - Don't be, you and the person you want to introduce yourself to have something in common, you are both at the same conference - use that as a starting point - Are you nervous that the person won't like you/will be annoyed by you? - Don't be, if they are annoyed by you, then they are not the type of person you want/should be associated with anyway. - Are you waiting for the proper time to enter the conversation? - Don't be - if they are actively engaged in a one-on-one conversation patiently wait to the side until they are done (don't worry about looking strange or weird while you wait there - no one will notice you because everyone else is busy doing and thinking about the same things you are 😀). If they are engaged in a many-person discussion, simply join the group and listen to the conversation - you will naturally find a point to enter the conversation and if you don't, you can just wait until the group breaks to grab the attention of the person you wanted to meet. The main point here is to not be nervous - everyone is at the conference for the same reasons - to learn new material and to make new connections. Be calm, be happy you are at the conference and have the opportunity you do (that type of energy is infectious), and introduce yourself. Happy Sunday and happy #asco2024.
