However, it raises some questions about their academic impact and their organisation including, how inclusive are these field trips? and what options are available if a student cannot attend? Offering different modes of field tips such as walking or online tours permits reaching a wider audience and empowers students to engage on their own. Reminder - one week to go! 😊 International Journal of Work-Integrated Learning (IJWIL) - Call for Expressions of Interest - Special Issue: "Student Voice in Work-Integrated Learning (WIL)" WIL has evolved to become a prominent global educational approach where student learning experiences are in highly variable contexts. While literature on student voice in WIL exists, with some focus on program design and implementation from institutional perspectives, the vital student voice is overlooked too often. In recognition of the imperative need to understand and prioritize students' perspectives in the discourse of quality WIL, we invite Expressions of Interest for a forthcoming Special Issue in IJWIL, titled "Student Voice in WIL". The types of papers accepted: Reports on original research, Scholarly discussion/positioning papers, and Detailed case studies of novel good practice with an emphasis on including student voice. We encourage submissions that delve into various facets of WIL from the students' viewpoint, shedding light on their perspectives, challenges, and insights. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to students’ views on: Their role in shaping and contributing to a quality WIL experience, The relevance of WIL experiences to their academic, career, and personal growth, Their influence and impact on the work environment, WIL program co-design elements, Evaluation and authentic assessment practices in WIL, and Their role within relationships and interactions that shape the WIL experience. We draw inspiration from the special issue team’s recent publications. The framework developed therein offers a unique perspective on the influence students exert over different elements of their quality WIL experiences. We encourage authors to explore and expand upon this framework in their submissions. Submission of Expressions of Interest: October 4, 2024 Announcement of Acceptance: November 8, 2024 Full Manuscript Submission: March 7, 2025 Peer Review Process: March to May, 2025 Final Manuscript Submission: July 11, 2025 Publication: December 2025 or January, 2026 Expressions of Interest should include: A brief overview (~400 words) of the proposed paper, including its significance and alignment with the Special Issue's theme. Indication of the type of contribution. Proposed table of contents with subheadings. Lead author's position, title, qualifications, and email address. Co-authors (if applicable).
