If you were booking a team building event, and you could choose an activity that perfectly summed up your business, your sector or your messaging, what activity would you choose? We love the chance to tailor our activities and events to suit our clients. One particular activity, Formula R, lends itself particularly well to a theme. This challenge is all about design. Well, all apart from the rubber band. We ask teams to set about creating a vehicle which is propelled by a simple elastic band. The trick is to create the best self-propelling structure possible - the furthest along the track wins - and the beauty is, the design can be anything you wish. When we ran this activity for a client in the shipping sector, they chose to make ships and we called it Ships Ahoy. As always lots of fun and spirited competition. What sort of elastic-powered vehicle would you create?

Have you ever experienced this? You get a “small project”—nothing major, just create a design that’s simple yet stunning, modern yet classic, and oh, it needs to “pop.” No problem, right? You pull it off, the design is approved, and you think, "Hey, this might go smoothly." Then, a week before it’s due, the email comes in. “We’ve had a change of direction.” Translation: Everything needs to be bigger, louder, and somehow glow in the dark. Fast forward to setup day. Half the team is trying to build a centerpiece that defies the laws of physics, while the client strolls in with, “Can we just move that whole stage three feet to the left?” Yeah, sure, let me just call in the forklift I keep it in my back pocket. In the end, it all works out—mostly. And just as you’re about to celebrate, they say, “This was amazing. So… about our next event.” Naturally. #events #eventindustry #eventdesign #chaos #order #projects #mircoevents #smallevents

🚙 Transforming Vision into Reality: A Bespoke Defender Journey 🚙 As the Head of Strategic Design and Development at Riviera Bespoke, I’ve had the privilege of leading some incredible projects, but this one truly stands out. It all started with a simple enquiry through our website—a client was purchasing a brand new 24-plate Defender and wanted something different. He wanted a vehicle that would not only turn heads but also reflect his personal style and taste. I took the reins from there, crafting a bespoke quotation that detailed every custom part and modification. We agreed on a fair price, and then the real fun began. From overseeing every detail of the build to ensuring the finished product was nothing short of perfection, this project was all about turning a vision into reality. The highlight? Revealing the transformed Defender to our client, who had only ever seen his vehicle as stock through a video link. The look of shock and pure joy on his face when he saw what was underneath the covers was priceless—and it’s all captured in this video. 🔧 From concept to completion, this build was a labor of love, and I’m thrilled to finally share the final reveal with you all. Check out the video to see the transformation for yourself! This project was completed and commissioned by Riviera Bespoke. If you have a vehicle you’re interested in customising or designing a kit for, contact me to discuss our turn-key solutions. Let’s make your dream car a reality! #BespokeDesign #LandRoverDefender #LuxuryAutomotive #CustomBuilds #RivieraBespoke #StrategicDevelopment #ClientExperience #LuxurySales

Good design is obvious. Great design is invisible. - That moment when you use a product and forget it's even there because it's that good. Anyone else experienced design magic like this? #designinspiration #seamlessdesign #userfriendly. https://lnkd.in/giUzQxp5

What’s the one thing that sets the best businesses apart? Over the years, I’ve seen how the demand for personalization has completely reshaped the business world. Take Rolls-Royce, for example. They offer hand-painted pinstripes and fully customized interiors, making every car feel truly unique. That’s why customers are willing to pay a premium—they feel like the product was made just for them. As I shared in the video, creating a product or experience that feels personal and customized will always make you stand out. In a world of mass production, personalization is the ultimate game-changer.

Ever wondered what kind of chair your business would be? A cozy armchair with scalloped back, a stylish egg chair, a classic Eames lounger, or a simple plastic DAR chair? If you asked your team or business partner, would they say the same thing? What about the texture? The sound you imagine it would make? Make sure everyone in your team shares the same vision, and identify any disconnects early on. Nailing your brand starts with internal alignment. Get your brand right, from the inside out. What kind of chair would your business be? 👇

Simplicity in design, simplicity in product, simplicity in life. Aim to strip away the superfluous, and what you're left with is pure value. The essence of clarity.
