Over the past few weeks, our schools were tornadoes of activity from pageants to celebrations to assessments, but now that we’ve reached the midyear pause, I hope you’re enjoying slow(er) mornings, cozy vibes, and longer hugs with family and friends. I have always loved an opportunity for reflection (both looking back and looking ahead), and with that in mind, I want to give you a tool for New Year goal setting. When the new year comes around, you might set new goals or check in on existing goals for yourself, with teachers one-on-one, or with the whole faculty. This tool is useful in all of those contexts. It’s fun, colorful, and concrete. And if you know me, you know I love a metaphor--this one ticks that box, too. Traffic Light Reflection As you consider the year ahead… 🔴 What do you want to STOP doing? 🟡 What do you want to CONTINUE doing? 🟢 What do you want to START doing? My newsletter links to useable templates and several suggestions for when, how, and with whom to use this tool. But first, try it yourself… in the quiet of the mid year pause. I promise it’ll help you feel more positive and purposeful as you return to work, life, and all-the-things in the new year. Link in the comments. 🚦
Love a good 🚦Reflection! For me, while sitting ocean side… 🔴 letting political situations at work bring me down 🌕 continue to build the capacities of the awesome Sidwell Summer team! We are doing great things and can improve even more! 🟢 using Asana and EOS tools - have dabbled but not fully launched it yet!
