🎄 The downhill run to Christmas – and it’s feeling rough. 🎄 This time of year is meant to be full of joy, anticipation, and a little bit of magic. But instead of feeling the festive cheer, I’m left with a sense of disappointment. Why? Candidates. The closer we get to Christmas, the more it feels like reliability is going out the window. No-shows, late cancellations, and ghosting are happening more often than not. It’s like the countdown to holidays has flipped a switch, and suddenly, commitments are optional. I get it – everyone’s juggling a lot. But when someone flakes, it doesn’t just impact us as recruiters; it affects businesses, teams, and workflows that are already stretched thin. And it’s not just the work that suffers – it’s the trust. This time of year is busy enough without the extra stress of chasing people who can’t or won’t follow through. A simple heads-up, a call, or an email can make all the difference. Because while Christmas is a time for winding down, many of us are still here working hard to make sure everything gets done. Despite the setbacks, I’m keeping my eyes on the prize: the holiday break. Time to recharge, reconnect with family, and reflect. But until then, I’ll keep pushing forward, doing my best to end the year on a high. How’s everyone else finding this lead-up to Christmas? Is it smooth sailing or a bumpy ride? Let me know in the comments – maybe we can commiserate or share tips for staying sane! #RecruitmentRealities #ChristmasCountdown #CommitmentMatters #WorkLifeBalance #HolidaySeason

This is such a relatable post, Sarah! The lead-up to the holidays can be such a juggling act, and it’s true that the ripple effects of no-shows and last-minute changes can be tough. I love your focus on keeping your eye on the break ahead and pushing through with purpose—it’s such a great mindset. Wishing you a smooth finish to the year and plenty of well-deserved downtime! 🎄✨

Yep definitely feeling the crunch but unfortunately in payroll land we don't get the break as the pays don't stop.
