💡 How to keep your staff happy 💡 Simple... you reward them for their dedication and commitment to your organisation and let them know that they are valued... 🚀 It isn't Rocket Science 🚀 Hats off to CEO Roisin Currie at Greggs who has decided to pay all staff members that have been working for them 6+yrs a £700 bonus each after the bakery beat McDonald's to become the UK's favourite breakfast spot. I know not every organisation can afford to do things like this, but recognising the hard work and dedication from your employees will help you to retain them and have a happy workforce. Win:Win 🙂

There's been a lot of talk about working at McDonald's or proving one worked at McDonald's. Here's my proof: my very first Performance Review, given to me after 30-days as a new Crew Member. It was 1991, I was 14yrs old, and it was my first job. I remember being just as hungry for performance feedback then as I am today, and the same is true for french-fries. Some highlights from this review: * Scored my first pay raise, an extra $0.15/hour, up from the $3.25min wage of the day. * My hustle to help people was noticed and I showed interest in self-development. * Curiously, McDonald's used the HR slogan "People are our most important ingredient." I get it, but it raises some questions, especially around the McRib. * Somehow at 14 I met the standard of displaying good personal hygiene. #McDonalds #FirstJob #PerformanceReview #GrowthMindset

So I've seen on the news that Wendy's is about to start surge pricing next year. this brings me to question. Will the employees also get surge salaries? Has Wendy's done the appropriate research to find that when prices surged there will still be a demand for their product? What about the long-term implications on this for the company? To me, the average person, it makes me not want to go to Wendy's. this is a place I would go for a deal on food not to be nickeled and done just because other people are going as well. #pricingstrategy #fastfood #sales #product #gtm #gtmstrategy

What do you think of when you think of fast & cheap? McDonald? Dominos? Nothing wrong with either of those brands, there is a time and place for fast and cheap however.... recruiting might not be one of those places. If the primary way you are measuring the success of your recruiters is time to fill and cost of hire, you will likely sacrifice quality and diversity. You can't pay for McDonald's and expect a five star steak. It's that simple. #recruiting

I walked away from my 6-figure executive job 4 years ago. Truth is, I accidentally started building my own business with a different approach: I had no interest in changing the industry, building the biggest company, winning awards, or being labeled a 'thought leader'. Instead, I wanted to help people, spend more time with my family, support the restaurant industry, hang with my friends more often, and stop doing things that made me unhappy. It’s crazy to think, that some of the first list actually happened anyway. And all of the second did. Plus I get to speak to and work with restaurateurs all over the world, supporting them as the try to navigate the new normal of restaurants. Because the model isn’t as easy as it used to be. And there are ways to make it more simple, in an industry that continues to become more complex by the day. So if you’re a restaurateur, let’s connect. Find me at Jim Taylor or follow the link. https://lnkd.in/gsHY3SkZ 👊🏻 Ps. If you enjoyed this, share the post with your network and follow me Jim Taylor for daily content. I also write a short email to 20000+ people every week on restaurant business models and other helpful tips. 💡 Free pizza won't retain your best employees. Here's what will: ✅ Fair pay – because they deserve it. ✅ Growth opportunities – promote them before someone else does. ✅ Supportive culture – show them you care, every single day. Perks don’t build loyalty; value does. Focus on what matters: investing in your team. Because the cost of losing great talent? Far greater than the cost of keeping it. 💼 Invest in your people today, or risk losing them tomorrow.
