🧠 Stress vs. Burnout: What Every Teacher Needs to Know 🧠 Teaching can be demanding—there’s no doubt about it. But how do you know when you're stressed versus when you're on the verge of burnout? Understanding the difference could be the key to protecting your well-being 👇 🔹 Stress is usually temporary. You might feel overwhelmed, but once the task or challenge is over, relief follows. 🔹 Burnout, on the other hand, is more than just a bad day or a rough week. It’s chronic, often leaving you feeling exhausted, detached, and questioning your role as a teacher. Here’s how to tell the difference: Stress: You might still feel some hope and motivation, even if it’s tough. Burnout: You feel drained and disconnected, with little energy or enthusiasm for your work. 📢 Both are serious and deserve attention, but burnout needs more than just a good night’s sleep or a weekend off. If you're unsure whether what you're feeling is stress or burnout, it's time to reflect. Addressing it now could prevent long-term consequences for both your mental health and your teaching. Want to learn more about recognising and managing these challenges? Let’s chat about how I help teachers avoid reaching the burnout stage and regain their passion for teaching. #TeacherSupport #BurnoutPrevention #StressManagement #TeacherWellbeing #MentalHealthInSchools #EducationMatters

84% of teachers are feeling more anxious ( 2024 NASUWT) All the research is showing us more people are suffering from complete burnout earlier in their careers, as more and more demands are placed on us in modern day society. This is particularly true of those working in the teaching profession. Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, or mental exhaustion. The early warning signs include weariness accompanied by feelings of inadequacy and sadness. Passive burnout can harm productivity by contributing to feelings of hopelessness and anxiety. We all have setbacks at work, but when you’re burnt out they can feel insurmountable and become internalised as personal failures. Burnout also lowers self-regulation. This is when we may become over emotional and unable to control our behaviours like we used to. This can manifest in sadness or anger. Avoiding burnout is often easier than bouncing back from it. Join our programme to work with me and others to talk and learn about how you can spot the signs and adopt strategies to change your habits and behaviours to avoid early burnout. Key dates....... 👉 The programme starts on 21st October 👉 Enrolment closes on 18th October 👉 First live coaching call 23rd October - welcome call Find out more at https://lnkd.in/eWAKnfQm #teachertraining #teachercareerdevelopment #teacherresources
