Title: Embracing Inclusivity: The Global Reach of Acknowledgment of Country. As the tradition of acknowledgment of country gains traction in nations like America, Canada and New Zealand, it underscores the worldwide impact of this practice, which finds its roots in Australia's pioneering spirit. As an Australian Aboriginal of the Kamilaroi tribe with mixed European heritage, I deeply understand the significance of acknowledgment of country. This tradition has been instrumental in empowering Aboriginal peoples, fostering a renewed sense of belonging and pride in culture and heritage, particularly in the face of historical injustices. However, this cultural shift has not been without its challenges. The initial introduction of acknowledgment of country sparked friction among those who felt excluded, highlighting the importance of navigating inclusivity with sensitivity and dialogue. It's crucial to understand that acknowledgment of country isn't about diminishing its importance; rather, it's about embracing a broader perspective. Australia, like other nations, boasts a rich tapestry of cultures and ancestries. Inclusive acknowledgments honor all who have contributed to our shared land, fostering unity and respect among diverse communities. When giving an acknowledgment of country, I ensure inclusivity by saying, “Before we begin, I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the (name of tribe), who are the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which this meeting takes place. I pay my respects to their Elders past and present, acknowledging their ongoing connection to this land. I also extend my respects to all present here today and to your elders, past and present, from diverse backgrounds and cultures.” This simple acknowledgment demonstrates the richness of our collective heritage and the importance of recognizing each other's contributions. It fosters unity, respect, and understanding among all present. In essence, acknowledgment of country transcends boundaries, uniting us in honoring our shared history, heritage, and contributions. It's a testament to the enduring spirit of inclusivity and respect that binds us all together.

There is a compelling narrative being written, reflecting the continent’s dynamism, diversity, and heritage. During his Q&A session earlier, CEO Senthil Gopinath of ICCA stressed the importance of staying business focused as a continent, saying “we have been a knowledge hub for many years, but now we need to make it more business focused.” By emphasising education, revenue generation, legacy building, and community engagement, MICE events in Africa will drive economic growth and foster social inclusion and environmental sustainability. #MeetingsAfrica2024 #MeetSouthAfrica

Namibian President Hage Geingob's words ring true: inclusivity fosters harmony, while exclusivity breeds conflict. 🤝🌈 In a world filled with diverse cultures, beliefs, and perspectives, embracing inclusivity is crucial for fostering understanding and unity. 🤲 Celebrating Differences: When we welcome people from all walks of life, we create a tapestry of voices, each contributing to a richer and more vibrant society. Embracing diversity allows us to learn from one another, celebrate our differences, and build bridges of understanding. 🤝 Building Bridges: Inclusive societies prioritize dialogue, empathy, and mutual respect. By valuing each individual's unique experiences and perspectives, we create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. 💬 A Call for Unity: Let's heed President Geingob's wise words and strive for inclusivity in our communities, workplaces, and beyond. Together, we can build a world where diversity is celebrated, and harmony reigns supreme. #NamibianPresident #Unity #HumanGPS
