✨🥁Introducing SQUAD Ambassador ~ Rai🎖️✨ ✨🥁 CULTURAL DIVERSITY COLLECTIVE 🎖️✨ “The Super Naari initiative is a groundbreaking campaign that directly addresses the often-overlooked issue of period poverty, a critical barrier to gender equity, empowerment, inclusivity and socio-economic participation. Period poverty hinders the empowerment of women and marginalized communities. Addressing it requires a multifaceted approach—raising awareness, improving access to menstrual products, and advocating for policies that support menstrual equity. Together, we can create a world where no one is held back by something as natural as menstruation.” Support the cause by signing the petition and donating for Super Naari - A Period Equity Initiative by Saroni Roy Foundation, a Cultural Diversity Collective. Happy International women's day from all of us at Lagos Food Bank♀️ We at Lagos Food Bank Choose to challenge gender inequality, domestic violence against women, practices that restrict access to empowerment opportunities and resources for women and unequal human rights. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Together, we can join hands against these vices and create a better future for ourselves. #IWD2024 #InspireInclusion We celebrate you!!! #THISISNOTALAGOSSTATEPROJECT #lagosfoodbankinitiative #sdgs #unitednations #sustainabledevelopmentgoals #socialimpact #socialresponsibility #sustainability #sdg1 #sdg2 #communitydevelopment #climateaction #lagosfoodbankintiative #charity #Africa #zerohunger #poverty #stophunger #zerohunger #charity #childhunger#ngo #agenda2030 #obamaleaders #iwd2024 #inspireinclusion

Every year on February 20th, the globe unites to observe the World Day of Social Justice, advocating for equality and inclusivity. This year's theme, "Bridging Gaps, Building Alliances," emphasizes the pivotal role of collaboration in addressing global issues. It urges the promotion of social inclusion, cohesion, and the fight against discrimination. Let's use this day as a catalyst to work towards a fairer and more just world for everyone. The Indian Constitution ensures social justice through provisions for equality and freedom. On World Day of Social Justice, the government raises awareness about issues like poverty and discrimination. NGOs empower marginalized communities, collaborating with agencies and grassroots organizations for equality. They advocate for vulnerable groups and address societal inequalities, striving for an inclusive society. Guided by the Constitution's principles, NGOs complement government efforts, bridging divides and fostering compassion for a more just society. 1NGO Trust stands as a central repository for 1200+ NGOs across India. Visit https://lnkd.in/dycx3Hvx to explore organizations dedicated to various causes. If you're inclined to support their causes, we encourage you to consider making a donation. #SocialJusticeDay #IndianConstitution #EqualityForAll #NGOImpact #InclusiveIndia #Empowerment #EqualityMatters #JusticeForAll #SocialChange #CommunityDevelopment #1ngowebsites #ngodirectory #Worldsocialjusticeday #feb20 #diversity #humanrights #equity #community #justice #identity #action #awareness #socialimpact #voting #discrimination #economical #political #socialrights #opportunities #caste #religion #race

It’s International Women’s day today and the theme this year is inspire inclusion. There are many women whom I admire and owe gratitude to both inside and outside of work, peers, reports, leaders, relatives and friends. Too many to name for one post so instead I’m going to take the opportunity to share some thoughts on why we still need international women’s day in hopes that it inspires more inclusion and participation through increasing awareness. According to the World Economic Forum global gender report which benchmarks the current state of gender parity on 4 key dimensions- economic participation, political empowerment, health and survival and educational attainment, at current rate of progression we are 131 years from achieving gender parity. This assumes no setbacks like the ones we experienced in the pandemic. Read that again and take a moment to think what it means to be less likely to survive, have good health, be able to go to school, vote, and work simply because of your gender. These are still real issues all around the world in all countries represented in this report. What can you do to help change things? - Educate yourself around how bias shows up in all walks of life and how it impacts others around you - Take action - donate to women’s charitable causes to drive change in areas where inequity is present. I chose to donate today to Wellbeing of Women a charity dedicated to female health research given the stat that only 2% of medical research budgets are spent on women’s health 🤯 - Be an Ally and lift others up as you climb. We can’t get to parity on our own and the world will be better for it. - Educate your kids since they will be the generation who could and should see it happen in their lifetime if we accelerate progress #iwd24 #inspireinclusion https://lnkd.in/eHnapjyT

Climate change affects agricultural economic systems in many ways. It directly impacts crops and livestock, livelihoods, land and ecosystem services, but it also indirectly increases insecurity and conflict in local and regional contexts. This is particularly relevant for emerging economies and vulnerable groups who are involved in any agricultural value chain. These increasing challenges call for adaptive and innovative perspectives that integrate climate adaptation, mitigation and resilience, as well as gender and social inclusion, into the traditional theories and approaches of development. I am excited to join the SODEFIKA III project in Chad as a consultant, and look forward to be working together with my colleagues at NIRAS International Consulting and other partners to support the development of sustainable and resilient market systems that benefit both people and the planet. 🌱 #msd #ruraldevelopment #agriculturedurable #sustainabledevelopment
You will love to hear this news! Today on Hearts Day, we want to share that NIRAS has recently won a project in Chad that deals with enterprise and food security, acting as subcontractor to the non-profit organisation Caritas. 🌾 As the last leg of the project Support for the Development of the Peanut, Sesame and Shea Sectors (SODEFIKA) unfolds, NIRAS will be providing expertise through Julienne Soliri, the long-term Gender and Social Inclusion Focal Point; Anne Højmark Andersen, who will render backstopping support to Julienne, as well as deliver short-term inputs related to stakeholder engagement and gender equality; Elena Bellitto, who will contribute her expertise on the development of technical and commercial services; and Alex Ingleson, who will provide insights into microfinance and investment capacity development. Financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, SODEFIKA is an economic development programme rolled out in three phases across the provinces of Logone Oriental, Mandoul and Moyen Chari. 🥜 The project is in its third and final phase and is based on a Market Systems Development (MSD) approach, where SODEFIKA acts as a facilitator among partners — namely women- and youth-run family businesses engaged in the trade of peanuts, sesame and shea — encouraging them to develop strategies geared towards demand and that make full use of their capabilities. Working with private sector actors such as processors, traders and importers who can invest in the Chadian market, the project aims to address food security amidst the increasing climatic, political and security challenges in the country. Here at NIRAS, where passion meets purpose, we are thankful for another awesome opportunity to fulfil our mission of helping build a world that is equal, stable and sustainable. 🌍 #NIRASWins #SODEFIKA #Chad

As Sri Lanka walks into another year of untethered impunity, corruption, and rising nationalism, the call for support is urgent. A wave of conscious support from international funders is crucial to support the resistance and resilience of women, trans, and non-binary activists at the frontlines of feminist movements. There are three ways we can do so: 🇱🇰 Strengthen the capacities of grassroots movements and networks. 🇱🇰 Encourage dedicated focus on sustainability and inclusion. 🇱🇰 Embrace intersectionality and changing contexts. #humanrights #feministactivism #humanrightsactivist #srilanka #funders #philanthropy #humanrightsdefenders

It is shocking to see the levels of poverty that still exist today in our country as well as around the world. Eradicating poverty requires a comprehensive approach that tackles its root causes and promotes sustainable development. Some strategies include: >Universal Access to Quality Education - to empower individuals with skills needed for better job opportunities. >Job Creation - to encourage economic development for sustainable job opportunities. >Social Safety Nets - Implement programs to support those in need and prevent them from falling deeper into poverty. >Healthcare Accessibility - to provide affordable and accessible healthcare for low-income families. >Gender Equality - to promote women's rights and empower women economically, socially, and politically to enhance community development. >Microfinance and Support for Small Enterprises - to facilitate access to microloans and business development services to support small-scale entrepreneurs. >Agricultural Support - to invest in sustainable agricultural practices and provide resources to farmers to increase food security and income. >Community Development - to foster community-led initiatives that address local needs, empowering residents to participate in the development process. >Policy Advocacy - to advocate for policies that address income inequality, improve workers rights, and promote fair wages. By integrating these strategies, communities can work towards eradicating poverty and creating a more equitable society. Soroptimists support programmes, like Mary’s Meals feeding school children in need, micro-financing programmes, like Lend with Care, promoting gender equality to support women to help their families, and we advocate strongly for better access to quality education for all, as means to access better jobs. All small or large scale steps taken to eradicate poverty are valuable -‘If you cannot feed 100 people, then just feed one.’ Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) #SIGBI #SoroptimistBristol #EradicatePoverty

Welcome to 2024, the year the countries we work in face new challenges. The eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo is in complete disarray, with more than 1,500,000 in IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) camps, and South Sudan is heading towards its first presidential election. We serve resilient people for whom life offers few guarantees except for difficulty. However, we are PREPARED because of your faithful support. We ended our year-end Ripple Effect campaign with $293,000 in donations, giving us a solid foundation to start the year as we seek to raise $1,500,000 to provide clean water and hope in the broken places. As mentioned in stats below by UN Women, it is even more challenging to be a woman in either of these countries. That is why we make sure our water solutions are empowering women. There is a direct connection between water and women’s education and between Water is Basic and cultural change. There is still work to be done in South Sudan for gender equality. More than half of women (51.5%) aged 20–24 are married before 18. Teen births are increasing. Shockingly, about 27% of women aged 15-49 faced physical or sexual violence from a current or ex-partner in 2018. When it comes to reproductive health, only 4% of women had their family planning needs sorted with modern methods. These stats scream for more action, especially in educating and supporting women on their rights and well-being in South Sudan. (UN Women) Women face widespread sexual violence, disease, and displacement in conflict situations. In IDP camps, women are forced to go outside to find food. Many reported exploitation for sex in exchange for a few potatoes. We humbly ask for your increased support in 2024 as we train another group in South Sudan, repair more than 700 wells, and continue to build rain catchment systems in IDP camps in DRC. Join The Moyà Team, a generous community of monthly donors and help LIFT those in greatest need! https://lnkd.in/gCrKknUP
