Knowing when to stop is a wise leadership skill. Recently we were going over some insights with a leader about his organization. There were some thorny issues that have been confounding the leader for some time. We were not yet at the end of our meeting time when the leader asked us to end the meeting. “I have the clarity I need for right now,” he told us. Yes, there was more to discuss and more to do. But it wasn’t the time. It was wise to stop at that moment, we could pick up the rest later. Have you ever had a time where you should have stopped at clarity but pushed passed?
