Our Corporate Structuring Manager, Suchitra Ravi, discussed Deloitte's recent reporting data on Family Offices in the Middle East, with AGBI - Arabian Gulf Business Insight. The number of family offices around the world has risen by almost a third to just over 8,000 in the past five years, with this number forecast to grow to more than 9,000 by 2030. These control wealth of around $5.5 trillion, approaching $700 million each, with the total expected to rise to nearly $7 trillion by next year, according to research by Deloitte. Wealthy individuals in North America and Asia are increasingly investigating setting up family offices in the Middle East as they seek to take advantage of the growth opportunities in the region and the Gulf’s desire to increase foreign direct investment. Talk about leveling up! 🎓💼 What hit me during our catch-up 1️⃣ 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬: Meeting him felt like a trip down memory lane, and boy, do we have some stories! 2️⃣ 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 = 𝐔𝐧𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬: It’s like we picked up right where we left off, with just a few more grey hairs and some wisdom (hopefully). 3️⃣ 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐔𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥: Seeing his career take off like that is both amazing and a little intimidating. Makes me wonder if I should’ve paid more attention in those meetings instead of doodling 😀 4️⃣ 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐎𝐥𝐝 𝐉𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐬: Catching up after years brings a mix of new insights and the same old jokes. It’s refreshing and hilarious at the same time. We might have grown professionally, but our humor is still as juvenile as ever. Here’s to old friendships, new achievements, and many more reunions!
