🔍 Could the Future of Robotics be Here Already? The latest research from NYU, Meta, and Hello Robot has unveiled groundbreaking advancements in AI that empower robots to perform tasks in unfamiliar environments with astonishing efficiency—90% success rate, to be precise! This innovation introduces "robot utility models" (RUMs) that adapt to various settings without requiring exhaustive retraining. 📊 Traditionally, equipping robots for new tasks has hinged on vast data collection, a challenge that many in today's fast-paced market find daunting. RUMs revolutionize this process, allowing robots to leverage pre-existing training data to learn new skills across diverse environments, potentially transforming home automation into an accessible reality for all users. 🤖 The unique research method involved combining an iPhone with a reacher-grabber to capture about 1,000 demonstrations across 40 different scenarios. The results were compelling—initial success was at 74.4%, but with the integration of OpenAI's GPT-4o feedback, it soared to an impressive 90%. 🌍 What does this mean for the rapidly evolving robotics sector? As Mahi Shafiullah posits, a future where users can easily select and execute complex tasks online is possible. This evolution not only simplifies complexity but also democratizes access to intelligent automation technologies for those without specialized training. Stay Ahead in Tech! 🤖🧠 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗠𝗜𝗧 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 “𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲” 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘀 🤖🧠 In an extraordinary fusion of #AI and #robotics, engineers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have introduced revolutionary technologies that significantly advance the current approach to #automation and robotics. These innovations enable robots to possess a form of "common sense", a key step in enhancing their ability to address complex tasks with agility and understanding previously unseen in the field. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: - LLMs Integration: MIT’s researchers are studying the integration of Large Language Models (#LLMs) into robots to refine their decision-making processes. This approach aims to provide robots with a nuanced understanding of real-world scenarios, further filling the gap between AI and human perception. The potential of this research is vast and promises to redefine the capabilities of domestic robots, making them more adaptable and intuitive in everyday environments: imagine your home robot not just following commands but understanding the intentions behind them. - GelSight Svelte Technology: This technology opens a new era of tactile sensing with a #sensor that emulates the human finger's complex touch and sensitivity. MIT's creation, the GelSight Svelte, enables robots to perform a wide range of grasping actions, mirroring human dexterity. This tactile sensor goes beyond conventional limitations, capturing tiny textural details and measuring applied force with greater accuracy than ever before. These advancements not only enhance robots' interaction with different surfaces but also increase their adaptability to dynamic environments. - #HiP (Hierarchical Planning): HiP represents a leap forward in robotic planning. By integrating three AI models specialized in linguistic reasoning, visual perception, and action planning, HiP facilitates complex decision-making processes. This innovative approach enables robots to dissect and execute multi-step tasks efficiently, marking a major improvement in both their problem-solving skills and operational transparency. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝘀: MIT's pioneering work not only underscores the incredible potential of the union of AI and robotics, it also encourages us to imagine a future where #robots are not simply tools, but intelligent entities that can understand and navigate the world with us - how do you imagine the future of AI and robotics transforming our world? #Robotics #CommonSense #Innovation #MIT #Engineering #FutureTech #MIT #HIP #LLM #GelSightSvelte

The Renaissance is here In this 3 min 20 sec vedio (that is playing @ 2x speed) the robot has managed to fold 3 articles of clothing and neatly stack them. what a skeptic would see is the enormous time it took. what I see a) the robot finished the task. b) it did not tear the clothes. if one were to extend the Moore's law to today technological advancements, they are growing at an exponential rate. and the cost of such technology is also diminishing at exponential rates. I have said this before and I am saying it again. Cost of technology will keep going down. Cost of human work (however mundane the task) will keep going up. Therefore it is no science that Organisations will continually invest in technology and over time phase out human work. welcome the future with "Dark Factories" #digitaltransformation #reducedOpEx #Renaissance

In future, having robots is not going to be an option, it’s going to be a necessity. Farmers are the backbone of our entire humanity. Just imagine, if we continue cutting down trees and global warming increases, the environment will become even worse. Maybe it will result in humans having to move towards artificial environments, and in nature only machines or robots can work. It’s just a thought, but technology is going to be our need for sure, for one reason or another.
