(End of Year Lunch Gathering PT Asianet Media Teknologi) Thursday, December 21, 2023 I was given the responsibility for a year-end lunch gathering event, there were many things that had to be prepared starting from making proposals, budgeting, rundowns, layouts, invitations, etc. and most importantly everything had to be done carefully. ensuring everything runs smoothly and correctly, especially in terms of financial reporting, as well as ensuring that all vendors are handled well and most importantly get approval from the President Director. The rundown of this event is, as firstly there is a speech from the President Director and Head of HR, secondly there is a Photosession because we rented a phobooth, thirdly there is a games session (gimmick) with prizes for games and door prizes, and of course the most important thing is lunch and the menu is Bakwan Malang, Es Podeng, and Es Teh Solo. From this event, we gained a lot of experience, starting from how to make event proposals, how to make good budgeting, making financial reports, making detailed event rundowns, teamwork, how to communicate well, etc. and Thanks to all those who helped prepare and run this event to success. and for this video it is my responsibility too

A little bit of humour doesn't hurt! Saw this signboard at the Kuala Lumpur zoo recently. Absolutely loved the little extra effort taken to get the message across. It is not that hard to infuse a bit of humour into our communication. The idea is not to make people LOL. A little smile would do just fine. Because humour is truly powerful. 😄 It grabs attention. (Like this signboard! If it had been a big red ominous cross saying DO NOT ENTER, people might not even have given it a second glance!) 😄 It engages. The message stays longer in the mind. When something makes you smile, you tend to notice it and remember it longer. 😄 It builds trust and persuades. Yeah, research has it that adding humour at the end of a sales pitch increases the willingness of the customer by 18%. Like the good folks at Zoo Negara who are doing their very best to make sure that your curiosity doesn't put you on the tiger's menu tonight! 🍗 P.S. Has humour worked for you? #humour #communication #business #LIPostingChallengeIndia

What does what we eat over Chinese New Year have to do with good meeting facilitation? Over the start of the Year of the Dragon, I had a diversity of foods -- from Chinese steamboat to home-cooked Penang hokkien mi to my mum's famous tomato rice and chicken curry with cucumber salad. Yeah, I know 😋 😋 😋 Plus, I had my favourite cookies -- love letters and my sister-in-law's peanut cookies. This got me thinking about how much the diversity of foods I was enjoying over Chinese New Year lifted the quality of our gatherings. And in Malaysia, we often take it for granted that our palate will always enjoy such diversity. And I realised, while we can take diversity for granted in some spaces, we cannot always take that for granted when we meet formally at meetings where there can be binary, confirmation and other kinds of biases at play. These biases unfortunately limit the quality of our thinking and decision-making, without us even realising it. That's the thing about facilitating meetings. When I facilitate, I intentionally seek to create a space where group intelligence can benefit from a diversity of viewpoints and experiences. As I prepare to facilitate a meeting I ask myself, "What could I be doing to intentionally create space for diversity to happen naturally?", just like Malaysians regularly expect to experience diversity in our foods. Watch my little video clip to find out what I do, thanks to my training in Caitlin Walker (PhD)'s Systemic Modelling. And I'd love to hear about what other people have done that made you feel that there was a rich diversity of experiences and ideas at your gatherings or meetings. Post them 👇 so we can all bring more diversity into the quality of our gatherings and thinking through our different experiences and strategies. #meetingfacilitation #facilitationskills #facilitator

Building a community network involves creating meaningful relationships among individuals and organizations to address societal challenges. Key strategies include: ✅️Forming Groups: Start with a small, focused group sharing common interests or activities. ✅️Collaboration: Encourage cooperation among groups with complementary functions for efficiency and resource sharing. ✅️Strategic Networking: Develop operational, personal, and strategic networks to enhance opportunities and support. ✅️Engagement: Regularly interact with contacts through meetings, events, and social media to maintain relationships. It's my pleasure to see Hartanah Group collabs with Nippon Paint Indonesia to address social-finance challenges. #networking #crm #salesmanagement #socialimpact #linkedinnewsasia

Let me share a simple thought on work experiences in Kuching,Sarawak dealing with Government departments here As I am with Jasaland Property Consultancy,I do intend to do a roadshow at one of the State Government Statutory Department in Kuching. Therefore,I went to this Department and I was asked to write in and through email. I did as requested on the 14 May 2024,before Gawai Dayak. Today on the 6th June 2024,after waiting for 3 weeks to see whether my application for the roadshow has been approved or otherwise,I decided to call this department. I did receive a reply email on the 14th May 2024 from the said department stating that they will get back to me soonest. When I called today at around 12 noon the operator answered and I requested to speak to this particular person as it was shown in the email his name and also another person's name when they replied to me . He answered and I asked him whether my application has been approved or rejected. All he answered was , "Oh ya ada mek terimak emel ya tek..Lak mek cek balik" and he hung up.. at 1430 hours I called again and I asked for this person, there was no reply, I asked the operator to put me through to the 2nd person whose name appeared in the email too. When I asked her for the answer all she mentioned to me was she will check back and called me back before 5pm. She did call before 5pm and told me the application couldn't be approved. That is the kind of work culture we have here in Malaysia. Even such a simple yes or no takes 3 weeks to get the answer . Just imagine if I hadn't called ,what would be the end result. Tunggu la.. The morale of this episode is ,don't wait for people,Jangan tunggu,Kita buat ape yang Kita dapat buat because most of the time people will let you down like I said million times. Anyone can tell you heaven and earth, but in the end when it comes to the crunch, you will be surprised by the end result

“𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.” Problem-solving skills are essential in the creative industry, as they allow professionals to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions. Being able to break down and analyze complex problems is key to finding the best solution. Creative professionals need to be able to take into account the big picture when problem-solving, and look at all the possibilities from different angles. Additionally, creative problem-solving requires a great deal of exploration and experimentation. This means trying out different ideas and approaches, and being willing to take risks and learn from mistakes. Finally, creative problem-solving relies on effective communication, allowing professionals to collaborate and work together to come up with the best solution. *notes: the picture taken at Aryaduta Hotel Palembang when I conduct informal meeting with my client - Mitsubishi for preparation of their Customer Gathering Event on 2023. #industrycreative #hospitalityindustry #eventindustry #problemsolving #innovativesolution #thinkahead #putripupit
