Large Action Models are LVMs with Prompt Chaining Routing, Tools and Agentic Workflow, almost every hyped moment in Artificial Intelligence has turned out to be a fraud demo over the last year. We need to return to solid software development principles and using these tools where they are appropriate, while understanding the limitations, much of which can be overcome with Human in the Loop. Let's not conflate this software with human reasoning, we're getting way to ahead of ourselves. #artificialintelligence #machinelearning ##largelanguagemodels

::A Defcon Noobs Perspective:: Today marks the first actual day of Defcon. Villages will open and presentations will get in to full swing. But the conference centre was open yesterday predominantly for registration (where you collect your “Human Badge”), and official merch sales. The registration queue actually has an official event name: Linecon 😆 Linecon was incredibly swift, given that the queue snaked around most of the anterior walls of the ground floor. Joining near the back, I got my badge in ~40 minutes! Amazing! The same cannot be said for the queue for the official merch. Quite the opposite in fact. I joined the queue at 12:00 and didn’t get served until ~17:40! Not only that, but the glass items I bought didn’t come with any wrapping or packaging of any kind, which is gonna make transporting them home more awkward than it should be. So, I have a bunch of ideas which Defcon could implement to not only fix all this, but make the queueing experience actually enjoyable. If I get the chance, I’ll suggest them whilst I’m here. Now, time to get learning!
