The power of a diverse workforce (with focus on gender diversity as the starting point) is something we at Hindalco have been experiencing in a significant way (with over 950 women colleagues as of today) in the last few years. Today women are everywhere in Hindalco...in diverse roles (including core shop floor ones) across functions. While they are contributing very well in their roles and in so many other ways, one area where there has been a pivotal impact of the increased gender diversity is our workplace culture. Now we are all trying to be more sensitive, empathetic and inclusive with our colleagues...a much needed quality in today's VUCA/ BANI world. This change in approach is also helping us to be more effective in our dealings with customers, suppliers, investors and all other stakeholders. I look forward to more of this transformational impact of diversity and women power on the workplace in times to come. Happy Women's Day!
Be all you can be — it’s such a powerful message and it’s our women employees who show us how it’s done. As we do every year, this year too we share glimpses of the work and post-work lives that Women At Hindalco lead. When all doors are open and opportunities are truly limitless, every day holds the potential to be #AllYouCanBe. shikha saxena, Tejal Rao, Parbati Kabi, Maithili Achrekar, Prachi Priya, Prabi Purushothaman, Abhipsa Prachi #WomenAtHindalco #GreenerStrongerSmarter #WomenEmpowerment #WomenPower

#InvestInWomen #InternationalWomensDay #Change While we set out to do this activity for Invest Karnataka, the over-arching thoughts were: a) work around the UN theme of Invest in Women: Accelerate Growth; and b) not do a generic post wishing women at a cosmetic level. So we thought asking women what they think -- feel strongly about and want to do. And as we went on the streets to talk, we saw a huge saree shop full of women buyers and workers. We thought that would be a great place to interview people. After entering, the elderly shop owner -- a man in his 60s -- had to be briefed on what we wanted to do. And upon hearing our question to the women -- 'If given the opportunity, what would women in #Karnataka want to invest in' -- the man seemed to know the answer upfront! "A house, or jewellery, or security bonds... what else?!" -- he said. Well, frankly, I felt bad thinking about the women employees in his huge saree emporium. Clearly, neither working with women, nor central #Bangalore's cosmopolitan environment have had any positive effect on him. And it's on women to show the likes of him that they are much more than buying a house or ornaments, they know more and mean #business. . . . #WomensDay #leadership #investment #thoughtleadership #contentcreation #contentmarketing #content #meaningful #changethenarrative #women #womeninbusiness #opportunity
#Women play a vital role in our progress. As we #celebrate #investinwomen: Accelerate Progress, the theme for #internationalwomensday 2024, we asked a few women in #Bengaluru what they really thought about #InvestmentinKarnataka. #KarnatakaForIndia #IWD2024 #internationalwomensday2024 #womenempowerment #womenleadership #womensday2024 Women & Child Development Department, Karnataka Awake Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka Government of Karnataka Women's Leadership Group International Women's Day @pccigroup INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY (MARCH 8)

Mere hard work ko koi recognise nahi karta | #wenindia se baat kijiye | #challenge faced by women In this powerful and motivational video, Sejal and Vandita discuss the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and housewives who often don't receive recognition for their hard work, especially within their families. Women like these dedicate themselves to their homes, businesses, and families, but their efforts are often seen as "time waste." Sejal recalls an inspiring story from a WEN India Award function, where a home-grown business owner shared her personal journey. Despite her husband dismissing her entrepreneurial venture as a waste of time, the award she received from WEN India not only boosted her confidence but also served as an answer to those who doubted her efforts. This recognition became a turning point in her life, empowering her to take pride in her work. Vandita emphasizes that this struggle is universal among many women—whether they are entrepreneurs or homemakers. The lack of appreciation from their families or communities can lead them to doubt their own worth. But when these women are recognized, especially through awards like those from WEN India, it becomes a powerful validation of their efforts and abilities. Both Sejal and Vandita agree that awards and recognition are not just symbols of success—they are a much-needed boost to a woman's confidence and self-respect. They highlight how essential it is for women to step outside their homes, network with like-minded women, and gain the appreciation they deserve for their unique talents. #women #unappreciated #award #lowconfidence #fullpotential #recognition #housewife #workingwomen #womeninbusiness #wenindia #womensupportingwomen https://lnkd.in/dcFQge38
