Not Getting Recognition? Here’s How to Turn It Around!” Sometimes, even when you’re giving your best at work, the recognition you deserve may not come your way. It can be frustrating, but here’s the thing—this is not a reflection of your value or contributions. Here are a few solutions to turn things around: 1. Communicate Your Achievements: Sometimes, people are not aware of your hard work. Don’t hesitate to share your progress and successes in a way that highlights the impact you’re making. 2. Seek Feedback: Talk to your manager or peers to understand if there’s anything you can improve. Constructive feedback can help you grow and align your efforts with organizational goals. 3. Build a Strong Network: Recognition often comes from those who know your work. Building relationships within your team and across departments can increase visibility. 4. Focus on Your Development: At times, recognition might be delayed. Keep sharpening your skills, staying adaptable, and investing in self-improvement. Success will follow. 5. Celebrate Small Wins: Recognition doesn’t always need to come from others. Take a moment to celebrate your own growth and progress. Remember, recognition is a part of the journey, not the destination. Keep pushing forward! #WorkplaceSuccess #PersonalGrowth #RecognitionMatters #LeadershipTips #ProfessionalDevelopment

🌟 Tips to develop successful recognition programs 🌟 Creating a recognition program aligned with department goals might seem easy... Nevertheless, in today’s ever-changing world, where we have multiple generations with diverse priorities working together, it’s undoubtedly a significant challenge 👥 🎯 The key is to be clear about where you want to go and what’s valuable to your team, and your company💡 I’ve been fortunate to lead and develop recognition programs at all levels of the company, from departmental to plant level in collaboration with my peers. 🚀 One of my proudest achievements is that these programs have been replicated across various sites, and nearly 10 years later, they’re still going! 📈 My top advices: 1. Clear rules 2. On time 3. Spread the word 4. Explain the why These 4 advices, really helps boost team motivation 🎉👏 Don't forget: Make the program fun! Include peer-to-peer recognition, thank-you notes, and add a touch of creativity to keep enthusiasm high. 🎈😄 In my experience, programs based on points that can be exchanged for products, brand items, experiences, free days! 👨👩👧👦 have been very successful. 🎁 Do you have any recognition plans that you’ve implemented successfully? I’d love to hear about them and share ideas! 🤝 #Recognition #Leadership #Motivation #Goals #Teamwork

Ever feel like you’re crushing it at work, but no one’s noticing? You’re meeting deadlines, keeping the team afloat, and solving problems left and right, but the recognition just isn’t there. Yeah, it’s super frustrating, but don’t worry—there’s a way to turn things around. Here’s what you can do to get that well-deserved spotlight: 📢 Speak Up – Sometimes, you’ve got to toot your own horn! Share your wins in meetings or casual chats with your boss. They might not see all the magic you’re making unless you point it out. ✍ Document Success – Start tracking your wins. When you head into performance reviews or 1:1s, roll in with a list of how you’ve crushed it. 😎 Be Visible – Make sure people know what you’re up to! Join projects, share your ideas, and get involved. The more visible you are, the easier it is for people to see the amazing work you’re doing. ❓ Ask for Feedback – Not getting the recognition you deserve? Ask for feedback to see if there’s something you can tweak or improve. It might just be a small shift that makes a big difference! 🎇 Celebrate Others – Give shout-outs to your team! When you lift others up, it has a way of coming back to you. Great leaders share the spotlight. Remember, sometimes you have to be your own biggest fan. You and your team’s work is valuable, and if it’s not getting noticed yet, don’t be afraid to shine a little brighter! #VisibilityMatters #LeadershipDevelopment #PersonalDevelopment #NorthHillCoaching

Recognition may or may not come, but excellence always leaves its mark. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 It’s easy to tie our worth to the applause we receive—or don’t. I’ve learned through the years that you should not strive for excellence to get the spotlight. True excellence is built in the quiet moments of dedication, persistence, and unwavering commitment to doing the right thing. Excellence is: ✅The leader who mentors a team member behind the scenes, knowing their success will outshine your own. ✅ The parent who sacrifices their comfort to give their child a better future. ✅ The professional who innovates tirelessly, not for awards, but because it’s what the job demands. Throughout my life and career, I’ve faced moments where effort seemed invisible, where the payoff wasn’t immediate. From leading social media initiatives to mentoring employees and balancing family challenges, I’ve learned that real impact happens in ways we don’t always see. It is hard and can be messy along the way, but over time, it accumulates into something undeniable. Excellence doesn’t scream—it whispers through the lives we touch, the ideas we bring to life, and the standards we hold ourselves to, even when no one’s watching. So, when recognition doesn’t come? The work still matters. The impact still matters. And most importantly—you still matter. You are making an impact to those around you. Continue to strive for excellence. #Excellence #Leadership #Resilience #Impact

👏 Let’s talk about recognition. Every good leader knows how important recognition is, it's not that we don't want to recognise our teams, but often, when we’re busy, we just forget, or at least deprioritise it. Please don’t – it’s so important for your team. People like to be recognised in different ways – verbal, written, awards (employee of the month), performance points, monetary, peer recognition, public recognition. The list could go on. You know what my favourite type of recognition is? OOTB. 'Out of the blue' recognition. Not planned, not voted for. Not once a big milestone has been achieved, but the out of the blue, you’re still deep in the middle of hard delivery, a good old ‘Just to say, I see you, I appreciate everything you are doing, I know it’s hard but keep it up, we are moving mountains' type feedback. We don’t do enough of it and we need to do it more. 🥂 So in a bid to spread more goodness into the workplace, I implore you – take 3 minutes today, find the time. Email/text/whatsapp someone who is doing good work for you and just say thank you. I promise you it’ll feel good for you and them. What's your favourite type of recognition? I’m doing a public recognition today for a work friend - Helen Lindsay you are fantastic and thanks for all you do. #recognition #leadership #team #spreadgoodness

"Great work" takes 5s to say. But can literally make someone's day. 📣 Praise loudly. Praise often. Don't wait for performance reviews. Show people what they do matters. Every. Single. Day. 📌 Recognition is powerful: → Boosts morale and motivation → Increases engagement by up to 2.7x → Reinforces great work and company values 🤩 Make recognition a daily habit: → Set a reminder to appreciate someone's efforts → Use various methods: verbal, written, public → Be specific about what they did well Not everyone receives recognition the same way. Use the Platinum Rule to understand HOW people want to be recognized. 📌 Tip: Implement a peer-to-peer recognition program. It can be 35.7% more effective than manager-only recognition. 👋 P.S. Who on your team deserves a shout-out today? Tag someone you know who deserves some 💜✨

My first day back in the office after a holiday and few days with family, I was met by this note on my door. The front said, “you are one of a kind…. I appreciate you”. The back side had a hand written appreciation from a leader I had helped the week before. My bucket overflowed. I speak regularly about the importance of recognition. Often times you’ll hear me quoting The Bucket Book theory - when your bucket is empty you can either dip from someone else’s bucket, or if you drop from your bucket into someone else’s … it fills yours too! You will also hear me speak to Gallup’s research and how if you don’t feel recognized, there’s a good possibility you haven’t recognized anyone lately. 😳 I also regularly ask people, do you know what recognition looks like to you? Who’s it most meaningful from? Each of us have a different answer. We have to know first what recognition means to us, to know if we are getting it. We should let those closest to us know what meaningful recognition is for us. And while we are at it, ask them what their recognition is they like to receive. Take time this week to drop off a hand written note appreciating someone. You might just make their day, week, or year!

Feeling overwhelmed by ambitious goals? Consider the transformative power of small daily wins. In my journey at Better Execute, I've learned that minor victories can significantly contribute to reaching larger objectives. By honing in on achievable tasks and celebrating these small successes, we can boost motivation, enhance productivity, and create a culture of resilience and continuous improvement. When I encourage my team to focus on immediate, attainable goals, I notice a visible shift in their energy and efficiency. Celebrating small victories not only uplifts morale but also paves the way for sustained growth and long-term success. It's about turning these minor achievements into a habit, fostering an environment where everyone remains engaged and driven. As leaders, it's crucial to recognize these small wins. Simple acknowledgments can enhance team morale and performance considerably. I've seen firsthand how public recognition and specific feedback can boost performance. How do you celebrate small daily wins in your work or with your team? I’d love to hear your strategies and experiences!
