On Children's Day, let's talk about an often-overlooked aspect of raising children with special needs - teaching boundaries. 🌟 While we focus on their unique care requirements, establishing healthy boundaries and understanding consent are equally crucial life skills. Simple daily practices like asking before hugging, respecting their "no," and teaching them about personal space can make a powerful difference. Remember: Children with special needs have the same right to bodily autonomy as any other child. Their different abilities don't diminish their right to consent and personal boundaries. As caregivers and educators, it's our responsibility to create a safe environment where they can learn these concepts at their own pace. This Children's Day, let's commit to empowering ALL children with the tools to understand and express their boundaries. #ChildrensDay #SpecialNeeds #ChildSafety #POCSO #InclusiveParenting #ChildRights #protectchildren

Child Development Resources! Village is thrilled to launch our Child Development Campaign for families and services. The campaign was developed in response to a need identified by the community through our extensive engagement across the early years sector. Last year, Village and partner organisations designed a Child Development Poster on developmental milestones and health checks, referring to the ACT Health Bluebook. The poster was widely shared across our network and received an overwhelming response. Building on this evident need, we are excited to share a series of 8 videos and accompanying flyers, each representing the developmental milestones outlined in the Child Development Poster. We encourage you to use and share theses resources with your families and friends. So that we all work together to support our children’s healthy development. Thank you for your support. Early Education does not benefit the children if you take away the part that makes early education work for children and families. CARE. Children learn best when their educator is stabilized throughout their early education, when they are able to develop secure healthy attachments, when families have developed trust and care with their educator. Care, is how children will become life long learners, how they will develop their self esteem, how they will develop and learn new skills that will be useful in elementary school. Family child care educators are NOT babysitters and more respect needs to be put on our profession. Share here how Family Child Care has positively impacted your life. Below is a picture of my Preschool Teacher’s activity with our 3’s. They practiced scissor skills with a salad craft!! #familychildcare #childcare #advocacy #professionals

🌍👂 Happy World Listening Day! We all know that the family is the first teacher to a child. But do you know how important it is to REALLY listen to your family's concerns and expectations? It's not a nice-to-have perk for educational communities; it's a must for effective communication between educators and families, which is crucial for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for children. When our family's concerns and expectations are not met, they will question if their child is in a safe environment, which is valid. When teachers genuinely listen, they: 🔹 Build trust and strong partnerships with families 🔹 Understand each child's unique needs and strengths 🔹 Create tailored educational plans that foster growth and development 🔹 Ensure that parents feel valued and heard, strengthening the home-school connection The power of listening helps to make every child's educational journey successful and inclusive. Together, let's create a brighter future for children. #inclusionmatters #childdevelopment #earlychildhoodeducation #worldlisteningday #inclusivechildcare

A healthy and happy child is a product of their environment. While my team at GGIS does their utter best to ensure that the children in their care are given the healthiest and happiest of learning environments, the fact remains that – for most children – there exist two worlds. The second of these worlds is our world – school. The first world – however – is the most important one – the home. It is only if both these worlds present the child with a safe space that a child is truly happy. But being a parent is tough. It is hard work. And we believe, as part-time caretakers of your children, that you may need some advice, some support and – often times – some help. That is why, across many of our schools, you will find programs such as Mothers’ Meet and iParent. They are designed, from the bottom-up, to give the parents a community of like-minded people – people that want happy and healthy children. After all, as they say, it takes a village to raise a child! #childdevelopment #happychildren #parentingjourney #healthyenvironment #schoolandhome #communitysupport #iparent #mothersmeet #ittakesavillage #GGIS #school
