User Plane Scaling in Charmed SD-Core In our latest video on deploying SD-Core using Canonical Juju Charms, we demonstrate the deployment process following the CUPS (Control and User Plane Separation) Model. Each component, including the Control Plane (CP), User Plane (UP), Juju Controllers, and DNS Management, is isolated on separate VMs to ensure optimal performance and security. In this video, you will learn how to: - Deploy Charmed SD-Core with CUPS separation - Isolate components across multiple VMs - Create separate network slices for each use case - Dynamically scale the User Plane Function (UPF) Up or Down Our demonstration features an end-to-end (E2E) setup where the Core is connected to a RAN stack that interfaces with a commercial Radio Unit (O-RU). This showcases how users can effectively scale the UPF to meet specific use cases, providing a versatile and robust solution for modern network demands. This scalable solution is compatible with any open-source RAN, such as OpenAirInterface (OAI), simulators such as srsRAN and UERANSIM as well as enterprise RAN solutions like ARIA.
