On November 21st, the Paris Technical Content Community came together at #Scaleway, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the ideas, and connections shared. 💜 A special thank you to our inspiring speakers, Rowena Jones, Luiza del Giudice, François Violette, and Brianne Bennett, for sparking great conversations and insights. As one attendee said: “As technical writers, we are more than just wordsmiths— we’re trusted contributors shaping solutions.” We’re already planning our next event and can’t wait to see you all again. Stay tuned for more opportunities to learn, share, and grow together! 🚀 Oceane FRANC Justine Sudraud Jessica Cirino Néda El Hadj-Mimoune Samy Oubouaziz Benedikt R. #TechnicalWriting #TechContent #Community #ParisMeetup

I started building Timepath during COVID as a hobby project, never imagining that today we’d welcome our 30,000th user. 🎉 This milestone is a huge personal achievement and a reminder of how far we’ve come. People often ask, “Timelines?” Yes, timelines are a powerful new way of storytelling—with endless possibilities—and we’re only just beginning! A heartfelt thank you to my dad, the team, friends, all the journalists, publishers, and storytellers who believe and trust in Timepath to bring their stories to life through interactive timelines. Together, we’re transforming how content is created and consumed, boosting engagement, and making storytelling more dynamic and immersive than ever before. Here’s to the next chapter! ps. that chapter will start soon.. 🇺🇸 #timelinemaker #journalism #storytelling #engagement #innovation #nocode #contentcreation

In the latest INMA strategic report, Product & Tech Initiative Lead Jodie Hopperton answers the questions she is most often asked in her role: How should a product-led news organisation be organised? According to Hopperton, as more companies focus on product-led strategies, it’s vital to understand the complexities and nuances of organising and executing them. That means considering what the structure should look like and understanding the processes and dependencies that can affect how it is organised. How Product-Led News Organisations Are Structured features 11 case studies to show various perspectives and illustrate how news companies around the world are tackling organisation.

How we're meeting the moment in 2024 and beyond, from one of our Co-CEOs Katelyn Hackett Reilly, in this week's Workings:
Good morning! Earlier today, I hit publish on a first pass at sharing the 2024+ Steyer Content vision and strategic direction Tony Batista and I have been circulating internally for some weeks now. A link to that writing is in the comments. The company is heading into our FOURTH decade, which is a huge accomplishment in its own right-- and we are again reshaping and rethinking to meet the moment. We'd love your thoughts and feedback, and I can be reached outside of LinkedIn at kreilly@steyer.net. #generativeai #contentdesign #contentstrategy #strategiccomms #docs #design #interactiondesign #humancentered #userresearch #infoarchitecture #contentqa #instructionaldesign #enterprisetech

Friendly reminder that I write Recreations, a newsletter on media, technology, and culture — and how they all intersect. ✍ In it, I follow my curiosity to highlight the trends, companies, and initiatives driving these industries forward. It's the best place to keep up with my writing and track what areas excite me the most. In the coming weeks, I'll be publishing a series on the weird state that book publishing is in. If you know anything about me, you might know I love reading. But my thesis is that, in trying to seize the "BookTok" momentum, the industry has subjected itself to textbook (pun intended) platform risk, with potentially ruinous consequences. I believe publishers need to learn how to stand on their own. This means strengthening their brands beyond one-and-off releases, cultivating a diverse array of discovery, engagement, and monetization channels, and overall bringing back a sense of experimentation and playfulness to their age-old trade. I'm excited to finally share my thinking on these topics. If you'd like to receive the series straight into your inbox, you can do so via the link below! And if you have book-ish people in your network that you think would enjoy the read, feel free to share. 😉
