Albeit a large legal tradition has studied the determinants and impact of the law and an equally ample economics literature has analyzed the origins and role of cultural norms, the interplay between formal and informal rules of conduct is still understudied. To shed light on these issues, the Cambridge Elements in “Law, Economics and Politics” wishes to organize a special session on “Formal and Informal Norms of Conduct” at the 2025 SIOE meetings that will be held in Sydney between August 24th and 26th 2025. Those willing to participate should submit their paper to LEPelements@gmail.com by January 15th 2025. Papers included in this session might be considered for publication in the Cambridge Elements in “Law, Economics and Politics” conditional on the usual editorial process.

I did not realise the value of this award when i actually won it: Three Minutes Thesis winner at the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics (and the People's Choice Award). Today more than one year later it is sinking in. The value of the lessons I learnt in presenting an 80 thousand words thesis - which took over 4 years in making - into THREE minutes is really invaluable. It taught me the precious lesson of clarity, conciseness and confidence. https://lnkd.in/gu9CNpk4

SUMMER RECAP PT. 2 I also attended a virtual summer school, hosted by the University of Brighton. The course which I participated in was : Business, Economics, Law & Marketing. During this course, I learnt about all the previously listed subjects. The other participants and I also interacted with current students at the University of Brighton, asking them questions about their course as well as life at university. Another part of the course I had to complete was a project, and I chose the law project. It was to discuss, in no more than 500 words, whether the law is indeed up to date with social attitudes, with a case study provided.
