What effect can the crafts you do as a child have to do with your career as an adult?🤔 Many years ago I read a book called “A Whole New Mind” by Daniel Pink. In it he talks about the unbelievable importance of creativity in today’s world. Most schools put a tremendous amount of emphasis on subjects like math and science. However, the types of jobs that you can get with those skills are easily outsourced. He said that a job in the U.S. that was paying an annual salary of $75,000 could easily be outsourced for $15,000. The only types of jobs that can’t be outsourced are creative ones. Now back to our childhood crafts. Most traditional crafts given to young children are by nature copycat, cookie cutter crafts with 0 creativity involved. If we want to start training our children at very young ages to start thinking creatively then we have to start by getting rid of crafts that don’t allow for creativity. And that’s where creative, developmentally appropriate art comes in. It’s never too early to start those creative juices going.🎨

Color Matters Do you remember learning ROY G. BIV in kindergarten? The acronym of the hues or colors that make up the rainbow. One of the purposes was to help you remember all of the colors that exist. And you remember what white is? And what black is? Great! ❓ QUESTION: Then why is black the only color in your closet?! 📌 ANSWER: [If you’re honest] it’s because you’re lazy. The most common reply to that question is “Black is easy to match.” Just STOP. You now have more than enough black in your closet and, if you’ve taken a peek recently, you’ll notice that you actually have about 10+ different blacks in your closet based on the usage, materials, texture, etc. 📌 ASSIGNMENT 101: Take something black and pair it with a color, ANY COLOR. Guess what? They match! 📌 ASSIGNMENT 201: Take a black print you already own and pair it with ANY COLOR found in the print other than black. Guess what? They match! You’ve now successfully implemented a kindergarten lesson into your professional life. And now when they say “everything you need, you learned in kindergarten”, you’ll know it’s true! #coloranalysis #visualresume #wardrobeessentials #imageconsultant

*The Magic of Sand Trays*🤗🤗🤗 Imagine a learning tool that's as fun as it is effective - the sand tray, revolutionizing early years education one grain at a time. Watching my learners enthusiastically engage with sand tray writing was truly inspiring. Using sand in a sand tray to teach early years learners letters and numbers is highly effective for several reasons: *Tactile Learning* The texture of sand provides a sensory experience, enhancing fine motor skills as children trace letters and numbers, reinforcing essential muscle memory for writing. *Engagement and Motivation* Sand's playful nature encourages exploration and practice without fear of mistakes, as children can easily shake the tray to reset. *Cognitive Connections* Tactile interaction associates letters and numbers with their shapes, aiding cognitive development and making abstract concepts more concrete. Overall, sand trays create a dynamic learning environment that fosters literacy and numeracy skills in a fun and engaging manner. Make learning fun and engaging🤗. #SandtrayBenefits# #EarlyChildhoodLearning# #LearningThroughPlay#

The last week of June is Global #DeafBlindAwarenessWeek and June 27th marks the celebration of Hellen Keller’s birthday. Were you aware that some Deaf-blind learners access online training using a refreshable braille display? These devices detect and translate alt text into braille. Accessibility Tip: Enhance the learning experience for assistive device users by ensuring all images have descriptive alt text labels.
