The summer heat is here, and families are looking for ways to keep cool at home. The first priority should be to perform a safety check. Always keep windows closed and locked when not in use, and ensure those locks function properly. Keep any items such as furniture or toys away from windows and balconies so they cannot be climbed by your child. There are useful safety items available that parents can install, such as Charley bars, window wedges, stops, and extra locks, all of which easily attach to the window frame to restrict opening. Typically, you want a window to open less than four inches (10 cm). This is enough to let in a nice breeze but should prevent your child from squeezing through. Additionally, here’s a quick reminder that window screens provide a false sense of security. They keep bugs out but do not keep children in. Screens can easily be pushed through, so it's important to take extra precautions. Learn more safety tips here: https://lnkd.in/gck68Pmi

🚸 Playground Safety Alert! 🚸 Ensuring our little ones stay safe on the playground is crucial! Here are some essential rules to keep in mind: 1️⃣ Always Supervise: Keep a watchful eye on your child at all times. Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye, so stay attentive. 2️⃣ Dress Appropriately: Dress your child in comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes to prevent injuries. 3️⃣ Age-Appropriate Equipment: Encourage your child to use playground equipment suitable for their age and abilities to minimize risks. 4️⃣ Teach Safe Behavior: Show your child how to use equipment properly, including climbing, swinging, and sliding, to prevent accidents. 5️⃣ Be Mindful of Surroundings: Check the playground for hazards like broken equipment, sharp objects, or tripping hazards before letting your child play. 6️⃣ Keep a Safe Distance: Remind your child to give others space while playing to avoid collisions or accidents. 7️⃣ Watch for Strangers: Encourage your child to stay within your sight and avoid interacting with strangers while at the playground. 8️⃣ Communicate Openly: Teach your child to speak up if they feel uncomfortable or notice anything unsafe while playing. Let's work together to ensure our playgrounds are fun and safe for all children! Share these rules with other parents to spread awareness. #playgroundguardian #childsafety #playgroundsafety
