This week we will be sharing some of our favorite Christmas Carols as a festive yet practical way to encourage you to plan ahead so your days remain joyful for you and those you care about. Day 5: 🎄Silent Night- "All is calm, all is bright" – Clarity and order: A well-organized estate plan brings clarity to what might otherwise be a confusing or stressful time. It ensures that everything is settled in an orderly manner, bringing peace to your family during a difficult period. "Sleep in heavenly peace" – Leaving a lasting legacy of peace: The song’s message of restful peace mirrors the ultimate goal of estate planning: to create a legacy that ensures your loved ones are cared for and that they can live in peace, free from the burden of uncertainty or conflict after your passing. Keep the peace during the holidays by addressing potential family disputes ahead of time. Clear communication and fair planning can prevent disagreements. On this #WorldMentalHealthDay, I’d like to draw attention to the fact that #pilgrimages can lead to increased mental health and wellbeing for #pilgrims across all types of pilgrimages. My research has shown that pilgrims experience the following: ✅ Increased connection with others, history, natural environment, and the self ✅ Dedicated time and space for contemplation ✅ Heightened awareness that many experiences can coexist at one time ✅ Elevated sense of awe ✅ Sustained integration of life experiences, identity, and purpose I have written more about these conclusions here: 📚 https://lnkd.in/evMY4Vdm 📚 https://lnkd.in/eggsJK2Z 💡 Service members and veterans: My current research is focused primarily on pilgrimages to battlefields and other sacred sites pertaining to war such as monuments and memorials. As part of this research, I have interviewed over 100 service members and veterans to better understand their pilgrimage experiences. Pilgrims report that a pilgrimage can be an integral part of the process of transitioning out of the military. Pilgrimages can also foster connection to the legacy and personal stories of past service members. And, battlefields and sacred sites along the former Western Front of WWI can serve as ‘proxy sites’ for processing combat trauma sustained in operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. I wrote about some of these factors here (with additional publications in the pipeline): 📝 https://lnkd.in/e4R6YEmT 📝 https://lnkd.in/em_Wv_cY Pilgrimages can also lead to restoration, repair, and healing. Such pilgrimages will be profiled in a forthcoming special issue of Religions, for which there is an active Call for Papers: 🔌 https://lnkd.in/eZK5vz-j #mentalhealth #wellbeing #repair #battlefields #sacredsites #WesternFront

Did you know that honey, found in ancient Egyptian tombs, has remained preserved for over 3000 years? Just like honey, the memories of our loved ones, especially those brave souls we honor on Memorial Day, have an enduring presence in our lives. 🐝 Eternal Honey and Eternal Memories: The same properties that keep honey fresh allow it to stand the test of time—much like the cherished memories of those we've lost. This Memorial Week, as we reflect on those who have served and sacrificed, let's consider the sweetness of their lasting impact on our lives. 🕊️ Healing Through Remembrance: Memorial Day isn't just a time for grief; it's a time for celebrating lives that continue to influence us. Sharing stories, creating rituals, and engaging in community acts of remembrance are powerful ways to honor these eternal memories, helping us navigate our grief and find comfort. 🌹 Act of Remembrance: Today, why not light a candle or lay flowers as a tribute to the enduring spirit of those who have passed? Let’s preserve the legacy of our loved ones as nature preserves the vitality of honey. 🤝 Join the Conversation: How do you honor and remember your loved ones? Share your stories with us, and let's celebrate the undying impact they have left in our hearts. #funfactfriday #memorialday #eternalmemories #healingtogether #smile #mentalhealth #selfcare #innerpeace #factfriday #fridayfacts #selflove #liveIntentionally #liveinthemoment #smile #mentalhealth #counseling

https://lnkd.in/ehaBGErE As public health increasingly recognizes #spirituality as a key social determinant of #health, it’s fascinating to see this shift reflected in broader societal changes, such as those happening in #HongKong. The growing practice of pastors conducting pet #funerals, complete with liturgies, illustrates how spirituality is adapting to meet the evolving needs of communities. This shift, which moves beyond traditional religious views, highlights the deep emotional and spiritual connections people have with their #pets. Just as spirituality is being integrated into #publichealth and #medicine to enhance well-being, recognizing the importance of these bonds in faith practices also shows how our understanding of spirituality is expanding to embrace the full range of human experiences, including the loss of beloved animals. #SpiritualHealth #PetMemorials #HumanAnimalBond #SpiritualityInHealth #PublicHealthInnovation #PetLossSupport #GriefHealing #CommunityCare #PetFunerals #HolisticHealth #WellBeingForAll #SpiritualityAndHealth #PetsAndPeople #InclusiveHealth #AnimalLovers #HealingTogether #dogs #cats #horses

#Solitude is where #community begins. That’s where we listen to God. Henri Nouwen:"Community is not an organization; community is a way of living: you gather around people with whom you want to proclaim the truth that we are all divine. Sometimes I think of life as a big wagon wheel with many spokes. In the middle is the hub. Often in ministry, it looks like we are running around the rim trying to reach everybody. But God says, “Start in the hub; live in the hub. Then you will be connected with all the spokes, and you won’t have to run so fast.” It’s precisely in the hub that we discover the call to community. It’s remarkable that solitude always calls us to community. In solitude you realize you’re part of a human family and that you want to lift something together. By community, I don’t mean formal communities. I mean families, friends, parishes, twelvestep programs, prayer groups. Community is not an organization; community is a way of living: you gather around people with whom you want to proclaim the truth that we are all divine.

Christmas Holiday As A Practical Opportunity For Financial Rebirth??? Yes. I think that we've been unduly religious about Jesus Christ and everything about him. For instance, I published this article this morning where I argued that the salvation Jesus Christ brought to humanity cannot be complete without including FINANCIAL SALVATION. Do YOU agree or not? More importantly, I used the article to share my personal inspiration on how anyone can use the Christmas holiday as a great opportunity to kick off a new lease of financial life even from ground zero. This is what I called a "financial rebirth" - an economic application of the doctrine of Christmas. You're free to criticize my point of view but not until you've attentively read and digested the article in question (link down here👇). Although the article is contextualized for a Nigerian audience, it is relevant for any audience anywhere Christmas is considered an important holiday. Okay, read it for yourself here and - PLEASE!!! - let me know what you think about it at the comment section: https://lnkd.in/dpQvBR-6 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
