Hamilton Company's Applications team is top notch! 🥂 🥳 Originally developed in the field, the idea to use our pipette channel's real-time pressure sensor (normally used to detect bubbles, clots, abnormal pipetting events, etc.) to detect liquid layers during the aspiration step was a real stroke of genius. 🧠 Next came the excellent decision to fully develop the new capability into a software package that can be easily deployed for any 'layered liquid' application! 💿 So far, we have seen a lot of interest in Liquid Fractionation Control (LFC) for the separation of spun down whole blood samples. While the easyBlood's image based fractionation will always have a place in the lab, the LFC offers an alternative solution without the need for imaging. Can't wait to see other projects in San Diego, CA that use it for other applications/chemistries! Liquid-Liquid extraction? Biphasic reactions? Reverse engineering your favorite salad dressing? 🥗
Liquid Fractionation Control: Precise Layered Liquid Separation Researchers and clinical labs often struggle to handle layered liquids like centrifuged blood samples. Manually separating these layers is time-consuming, error-prone, and can compromise sample integrity. Hamilton's new Liquid Fractionation Control addresses these challenges by offering: • Automated solution for detecting and handling layered liquids • Compatible with Hamilton's STAR, STAR V, and VANTAGE systems • Uses pressure-based TADM technology for real-time density detection • Versatile and customizable for different sample types • Easy integration with VENUS Software • Quick implementation and training process What to learn more about liquid fractionation?
