Sakhalin-1 was studied for methane emissions. Rosneft carried out a large-scale program to identify and eliminate gas leaks at the Sakhalin-1 project. In 2023, Rosneft inspected the Sakhalin-1 facilities for the first time as part of finding and eliminating sources of methane emissions. By the way, the former operator of the project, the ExxonMobil structure Exxon Neftegaz, for some reason did not conduct such checks, and in 2022, we recall, left the project due to sanctions. Rosneft clarified that it examined the Odoptu and Chaivo onshore complexes, as well as the Berkut platform. Drones were involved in this work. This program was scaled up; in addition to Sakhalin-1, it included 27 more Rosneft enterprises and 800 facilities at them. In particular, a study on greenhouse gas emissions was carried out on 2.5 thousand km of pipelines. Rosneft's development strategy until 2030, adopted back in 2021, involves reducing methane emissions to 0.2% in just 6 years. At the same time, last year, due to the increase in APG production, methane emissions at Rosneft enterprises increased by 7.3% year on year, to 77.15 million tons of CO2 equivalent, methane emissions reached the level of 168.4 thousand tons, admits companies. https://lnkd.in/gcJz_-8V

Last post we learned about the unique properties and versatile applications of aerogel materials. Now we will focus on what has to be considered during the process to achieve them. Aerogels can be produced using the sol-gel process. After the aerogel has been formed, the solvent is exchanged by a supercritical fluid.
