Costs are a crucial aspect of any project, and understanding them is essential to ensure successful completion. Categorizing costs is an effective way to understand their impact on a project. In construction, costs are mainly divided into two categories: direct and indirect costs. Direct costs are those that are directly linked to an activity, while indirect costs are generally used by the project. Additionally, costs can also be categorized into fixed and variable costs. Fixed costs are independent of the volume of work, while variable costs depend on the volume of work executed. A cost element can be fixed direct or fixed indirect, variable direct or variable indirect. Can you name a variable indirect cost in the construction industry? Let's discuss in the comments below. #constructioncosts #projectmanagement #costcategorization #costmanagemet
