Literacy should be a right of all children. Yet, more than half of of our children are unable to reach reading proficiency. We can change this by supporting families and children when it matters most, during the earliest years. Please make a donation on behalf of our babies. Let’s give them the tools they will need to reach their potential and make this world a better place for all of us. Investing in #earlyeducation is an investment in our future. #earlylearning #earlyliteracy

Access to age-appropriate books at home is one of the strongest predictors of academic success for children—surpassing even parental education and socioeconomic status (Source: *Handbook of Early Literacy Research*). By donating, you can help put books into the hands of local children who need them most, giving them the tools they need for educational achievement. https://lnkd.in/gwzbwHs8

There are so many ways learning to read can improve an adult’s life. Yet of the 54% of American adults who struggle to read proficiently, only 10% are enrolled in an adult literacy program. Help us change that. Donate today: https://hubs.la/Q02Gd-Mf0 #AdultEdu #AdultLiteracy #LiteracyMatters

It was an honor to give to Hope for Learning. Hope for Learning is a Richmond, VA-based organization, founded by Charles Caper, dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for underserved youth in the community. Supporting this initiative provides several tangible and meaningful benefits, including: 1. Empowering Local Youth Through Education Hope for Learning provides programs that help children build foundational skills in literacy, STEM, and other academic areas. This creates pathways for long-term success by equipping students with the tools they need to thrive academically and professionally. 2. Supporting Community Development When children are given the chance to learn and grow, it strengthens the entire community. An educated population contributes to reduced crime rates, increased economic activity, and a more cohesive social environment. 3. Supporting Innovative Educational Programs Hope for Learning often funds creative initiatives that go beyond the traditional classroom, such as after-school programs, summer camps, and technology-based learning platforms. .
On behalf of the Peoples Bank Foundation, associates presented a donation to Hope For Learning in Richmond, Virginia. 🤝💚💙 Hope For Learning is dedicated to supporting underprivileged communities. Their mission is to provide educational opportunities and resources to those in need. Learn more about Peoples Bank’s Commitment to Communities 👉 https://lnkd.in/g2R63DBU

Did you know that, on average, parents spent $750 to send one kid to summer camp? And just imagine how much that cost multiples for each child a family has. This expense can become a financial burden that impacts funds needed to prepare those same students for the academic school year. At SOME, we're aware of this burden, which is why we're raising money to support families living in our affordable housing. Are you willing to help? The school year starts next week for public schools in the district, why not give today: https://bit.ly/3Mg54hn
