THE IMPORTANCE OF AIRTIGHTNESS IN ENERGY EFFICIENT HOMES In our pursuit of understanding energy-efficient homes we take a look at the importance of airtightness. 🏡 Understanding the importance of airtightness in energy-efficient homes is crucial for maximizing sustainability and comfort. Since 2006, new buildings in England and Wales must undergo airtightness testing, highlighting its significance in reducing energy loss. Older properties often lack airtightness, leading to increased heat loss and higher energy bills. Airtightness, controlling unwanted air leakage, is pivotal in modern construction. Meeting building regulations ensures a maximum level of air leakage, with Passive House standards setting even stricter requirements. Enhanced airtightness minimizes warm air escaping, resulting in substantial energy savings. Improving airtightness involves sealing gaps around windows and doors, upgrading old fixtures, and utilizing airtightness membranes during insulation. Blower door tests assess a building's airtightness, measuring air changes per hour and identifying leakage pathways. Smoke pens aid in pinpointing specific areas of air escape. While enhancing airtightness is beneficial, ensuring proper ventilation is essential to maintain indoor air quality. By prioritizing airtightness, we can create more sustainable, energy-efficient homes for a greener future. #EnergyEfficiency #AirtightHomes #Sustainability 🌿🏠 Remember, sustainability does not have to be expensive or complicated. "Fantastic concept. It would’ve taken forever to level our steeply sloping garden, but the ground screws made life much less complex (and far less exhausting to try and lug concrete etc up the hill!). Thanks, Luke, installation is so quick and efficient - we wouldn’t hesitate to use the ground screws again." We place a high priority on collecting client feedback to ensure we consistently deliver exceptional, personalised services tailored to individual needs. Are you considering ground screws for your upcoming project?
