In landscaping, you might feel like you have to answer every question or comment right away. But remember, it’s okay to take a little time to think before you respond. This isn’t just to avoid mistakes; it’s to make sure that when you do speak up, you really help or solve a problem—whether it’s when you’re talking to customers, chatting with your team, or planning your marketing. Next time you get a tough question or someone makes a tough comment, pause for a bit. Think about the best way to answer that shows off your business in a good way. It’s not just about having answers; it’s about having good answers. Have you ever had a time where waiting a bit before you responded helped you? ❓ Why is it so hard to stand out in the landscaping industry? Last month, I spoke with a landscaper who said, “It feels like every project is a race to the bottom—clients just want the cheapest option.” Sound familiar? Here’s what was happening: They were focusing all their energy on advertising discounts instead of highlighting what made their work exceptional. We switched gears. I suggested showcasing their unique process and results through pictures and testimonials—focusing on quality, not price. Within weeks, they started attracting clients who cared about design and detail instead of just saving a few bucks. The key? Position yourself as the expert who delivers stunning results, not just another landscaper who mows lawns. Post consistently on social media with before-and-after shots, share tips about maintenance, and talk about the problems you solve. These small steps can help your business stand out without competing on price. What’s one unique thing about your landscaping business that clients should know? Drop it in the comments! 🌱

Memorable marketing I saw on the freeway today, (words I've never typed before): A van with the back doors branded 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭 - 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 - 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 $𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎'𝐬 - 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 Within seconds you know what they do and how they can help you. I hadn't caught the company name and I was curious. So, I did a quick Google search at work with the same phrases I remembered and found Stardust Building Supplies Inc. 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬-𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝, 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲. And added bonus, now I know about more #sustainableconstruction approaches.
