Just watched a fantastic talk on weapon balancing from the game designer on Halos 1-3, Jaime Griesemer “Changing the Time Between Shots for the Sniper Rifike from 0.5 to 0.7 Seconds for Galo 3” lots of great takeaways: -Half of the game designer at Bungie were Philosophy majors. (Sup, Fam) -You want your weapons to be STRONG. if all game strategies are strong you have variety and fun. -Do not disrupt Flow. Flow is hugely important to fun. Making a weapon weaker disrupts flow. -Make the hard choices carefully. Use a balance of your gut player feedback and your own rationality. Decisions should be made with the design team behind closed doors. Overall this was an amazing talk and a fantastic way to explore the complexity and importance of detail in game design. https://lnkd.in/g2uGPs_J
