Scottish Ballet’s Post

What are the benefits of dance and can it help support the symptoms of menopause? Our Dance Health Programmes Manager, Tiffany Stott recently contributed to a recently published book by Dr Nicky Keay - ‘Myths of Menopause’, a guide to understanding your hormones to optimise your health and performance. Discussing it in relation to the dance health work that she is involved in at Scottish Ballet, Tiffany looks at the benefits and multifaceted effects of dance in general - physically, psychologically and socially. In her chapter, Tiffany also highlights how dance in its nature could potentially, and has been cited in some research, to support the symptoms of menopause such as guarding against osteoporosis, potentially reducing cholesterol, improving mood and reducing stress. Dr Nicky Keay is a hormone health expert based in London and has supported our Performance Medicine team and dancers for many years. We are excited to see the book launch and can’t wait to read Tiffany’s contributions! 📘 Check out Nicky’s new book, available to buy online: https://lnkd.in/eRkzF3iB Image: Dr Nicky Keay pictured with her book ‘Myths of Menopause’ Martin Lanfear #dance #health #benefits #studies #research #menopause
