Breaking Barriers, Building Inclusion: A Successful DuoDay at the University of Edinburgh. 📣 Yesterday, my colleagues and I hosted a DuoDay at the University of Edinburgh in collaboration with ‘Into Work’ as part of the Scottish Union of Supported Employment (SUSE). This annual event is all about breaking down barriers and promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. It was an absolute pleasure to meet our mentees, each bringing unique perspectives and talents. The day focused on breaking down barriers and challenging stereotypes about disabled people in the workplace - something that is very important to me. The College of Science and Engineering and the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine teamed up for the day, and it was filled with inspiring talks from professionals in various fields throughout the University, including Research Development, IT, Planning and Insight, Social Responsibility, and Executive Support - plus we topped it all off with an exciting tour of the Robotarium at the Bayes Centre, and met NASA’s Valkyrie robot, developed in partnership with the University of Edinburgh. Thank you to everyone involved for making this day a resounding success! Federico Marchiolli Dr Róisín McKelvey Katie Grieve
