Did you know that bromine, along with its ions bromate and bromide, plays a significant role in the composition of animal feed? Did you know that the effects of bromine compounds on animal and human health have not been fully understood until recent studies? In 2023 our team embarked a project with European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and performed a comprehensive systematic review (SR) on this topic, providing valuable insights for future risk assessments and regulatory measures. During last month, European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)’s Methodology and Scientific Support Unit (MESE) launched a scientific consultation titled "Draft Scientific Opinion on the Risks to Human and Animal Health from the Presence of Bromide in Food and Feed", which will remain open until 6 September 2024, to gather comments and opinions from stakeholders on the topic. You will find more details in our last article at the following link. https://lnkd.in/dAs-XR5B #Bromine #FoodSafety #AnimalFeed #RiskAssessment #LiteratureSearch #SystematicReview #ScientificConsultations
