The new legislative session starts in January but our work has already begun. #HopefulDefiance “The most important part that people should know about this bill is it's a total abortion ban with no exceptions. ... So, there is no exception for rape. There is no exception for incest. There is no exception for the health of the pregnant person. So truly, they are looking at a total abortion ban.” https://lnkd.in/eSaD3Gcm

Americans are divided on whether women should have to see a doctor in person before receiving abortion pills, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll found, as the U.S. Supreme Court weighs whether to reimpose that restriction on medication abortion. But broad bipartisan majorities opposed the idea of allowing states with abortion bans in place to block access to the procedure in certain emergency cases when it is needed to protect the mother's health, at issue in another case before the court. The findings come as the court is preparing to rule on its highest-profile abortion cases since 2022, when the justices overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that established the national right to abortion. Some 50% of respondents in the May 7-14 survey said they supported an in-person doctor visit requirement for abortion medication, while 33% said they opposed that rule. 17% said they were unsure. I highly encourage parents to become familiar with the online dangers of abortion pill trafficking happening in our country. View the report from the American Life League to better understand this new drug cartel often calling themselves "Community Partner Networks". Know that not all of these networks are here in the USA. One network from Mexico, Las Libras, is encouraging young women to lie to the parents and to ER doctors about them taking abortion pills should they experience excessive bleeding. Also, be very aware of how men are using these pills and giving them to their girlfriends/wives and passing them off as other vitamins/supplements to ensure abortion happens without the women's consent. Put your daughter or grand daughter in this situation. Check your state to see whether this access is allowed and if these networks exists. Protect your family members and know that there this better, cost-effective and life-affirming care available. #prolife #dangerousmedicine #betterhealth #womenshealthmatters #parents

International Safe Abortion Day on September 28 highlights the global need for safe abortion services. In India, despite legal reforms, barriers to safe abortion care persist. The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act, amended in 2021, allows abortions up to 24 weeks for specific cases, including survivors of rape, minors, and women with fetal anomalies. Unmarried women now have the same legal access to abortion as married women, promoting reproductive autonomy. However, these legal changes have not entirely addressed access issues, especially for marginalized communities. Despite the laws, safe abortion services remain inaccessible in rural areas. A 2018 Lancet Global Health study found that 78% of abortions in India are performed outside health facilities, often unsafely. Lack of trained providers, healthcare infrastructure, and social stigma continues to push women towards unsafe methods, leading to serious health risks. Social stigma around abortion deters many women from seeking safe services. Ensuring universal access to safe abortion in India requires strengthening healthcare systems, raising awareness, and dismantling stigma. Safe abortion is not just a healthcare issue, but a matter of human rights. #InternationalSafeAbortionDay #ReproductiveRights #WomensHealth #AbortionRights #HealthcareAccess #GenderEquality #SafeAbortion #MTPAct #HumanRights #SocialStigma #WomensEmpowerment #PublicHealth #India #HealthForAll #RuralHealthcare

Abortion bans, whether they’re imposed at a state or national level, are extremely harmful. PERIOD. The state sanctioned bans already in place across the US have created a health care crisis that disproportionately harms BIPOC, those working to make ends meet, LGBTQI+ people, and young people. Studies show that those denied abortion care are: ➡️ More likely to experience serious complications from the end of pregnancy including eclampsia and death. ➡️ More likely to stay tethered to abusive partners. ➡️ More likely to suffer anxiety and loss of self-esteem. ➡️ Less likely to have aspirational life plans for the coming year. ➡️ More likely to experience poor physical health for years after the pregnancy. And so-called "exceptions" to abortion bans are incredibly misleading, giving the illusion of access to care when, in reality, they offer no relief to the bans that put people's lives in grave danger. Eliminating ALL abortion bans is essential to the realization of reproductive, economic, and racial justice. The Women’s Health Protection Act, would end abortion bans and create a path toward a future where we can ALL thrive. Tell Congress it’s time to act NOW:
