It's been an interesting week after the Topgolf Callaway Brands "strategic alternatives" announcement and a few people reached out to me asking what is going on or I expect to happen there. Honestly, I don't really know. However, I do know Topgolf (and COVID) have been some of the biggest drivers of golf's growth over the last 5+ years. We look at golf as a progression for new golfers: 1️⃣ Topgolf - Entertainment Golf. Top of the funnel. Brings new people into the game. Is it really golf? 🤷♂️ 2️⃣ Golf Ranch - Golf Lite. The bridge. Give golfers of every skill level an accessible place to practice and play. Is it really golf? Toptracer is the same technology you see when you watch professional golf (and TMRW Sports / TGL)! 3️⃣ Golf Courses - Golf. The end point. Intimidating, difficult, frustrating... and the place every golfer aspires to be. For this reason (and golf as a whole), I hope either Callaway or whoever is the long-term owner of Topgolf is able to improve the business and continue investing in sustainable growth. Golf is in one of the healthiest positions it has been in a long time, and it will continue to evolve. We are excited to continue investing into the space to grow Golf Ranch.
