Short gains from transitioning to renewable energy could come with high prices to us, the environment and many sectors suffering for a long time. Small islands mining and smelters destroyed the whole ecosystem of the island and the surrounding. Net zero of the one country is NOT zero for the country. #netzero #COP29 #justtransition #dirtyenergy
The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) has expressed concern over potentially adverse impacts on the country’s tourist industry from a nickel project in the Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua. Click here to read more: https://lnkd.in/ghzNNhmb

**Seating on the Floor Dining Option: A Local Experience in Malaysia and ASEAN** Seating on the floor while dining is a traditional practice in Malaysia and other ASEAN countries, offering a unique and immersive way to enjoy meals. Different regions have their own names for this seating style, such as "moguntoungis" in Sabah. Typically, men sit with their legs crossed, while women sit with their legs folded to one side in a more feminine manner. To enhance comfort, each person is provided with a triangular cushion. This dining experience is truly remarkable, allowing guests to savor local cuisine in an authentic setting. The ambiance, enriched by traditional decor and staff dressed in local attire, significantly enhances the overall dining experience. This form of dining is a perfect example of experiential tourism, which aims to immerse travelers in the local culture and create meaningful, authentic experiences. #LocalDining #FloorSeating #MalaysianCuisine #ASEANExperience #TraditionalDining #CulturalImmersion #AuthenticExperience #ExperientialTourism #LocalAmbiance #DiningOnTheFloor

I once did a pre-opening for a boutique-ish hotel at a very popular location in Bali; 124 rooms with 6 different category rooms with an ambitious 3 F&B units with each its own concept; 1. All day dining with breakfast buffet in mind, with seating capacity of only 64. 2. A streetside kitchy Asian Pizza take-out concept, fitted with custom brick oven for fire-wood. 3. A bespoke dinner-only unit with a michelin star chef, inside the hotel unseen from the street. 4. 24hr room service with 80% of all day dining menu availability. Reality: 1. Breakfast buffet service was near impossible as space for guests' flow was limited, solution a la carte breakfast with 'bottomless' coffee/tea/pastry. Menu presentation was small enough guests can opt to order more or try another item, with relatively logical cost. 2. Hotel guests chose to go out for lunch and/or dinner rather than stay in-house 3. Limited electrical outlets and proper table/chair set-up for hotel guests opening their laptops and charging their devices. 4. Asian take-out concept was great, but lack social media coverage and treated as an amenity, instead of a specialty unit. 5. Bespoke dining was quiet as it was not marketed to in-house guests, locals nor visitors staying at nearby accommodations. 6. Room service was an afterthought without its own menu, service-ware and staffing. Less is more, is real.

🌿 Embrace the Wabi Sabi Aesthetic in Tourist Restaurants 🌿 In the bustling world of tourism, where experiences are crafted for the masses, the Wabi Sabi philosophy offers a unique and enriching perspective. By incorporating the Wabi Sabi aesthetic into tourist restaurants, we not only elevate the dining experience but also create a space where creativity and culture can thrive. Wabi Sabi celebrates the beauty of imperfection, the natural, and the handmade. Imagine a restaurant where every detail tells a story: tables made from reclaimed wood, handcrafted ceramics, and decor that embraces the charming wear and tear of time. This approach not only fosters a warm and inviting atmosphere but also encourages a deeper connection with the surroundings. In terms of cuisine, Wabi Sabi can inspire dishes that highlight the simplicity and richness of local ingredients, prepared with care and attention. It's about celebrating the authentic flavors and traditions of the region, rather than chasing fleeting culinary trends. This results in a menu that is not only delicious but also culturally significant. Moreover, Wabi Sabi in tourist restaurants can extend to cultural and artistic expressions. Hosting local artists, musicians, and performers in a setting that honors the imperfect and the ephemeral can create memorable and meaningful experiences for visitors. It's a celebration of the local culture in its most genuine form. Embracing Wabi Sabi in tourist restaurants offers a richer, more creative experience that goes beyond the surface. It invites visitors to slow down, savor the moment, and appreciate the beauty of imperfection. #WabiSabi #TouristRestaurants #CreativeCuisine #CulturalExperience #NaturalBeauty #AuthenticDining #marketing #interiors pikidee.com
