We are thrilled to announce our landmark partnership with the Events Industry Council! This strategic alliance– the largest of its kind in scale – will allow our OVG convention center portfolio to deepen its commitment to sustainability and better support the green meeting & exhibition aspirations of our clients and partners. We plan to certify 60+ venues, in a phased approach, including Chicago's McCormick Place, the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas in Dallas, and the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Working in concert with the GOAL platform (Green Operations & Advanced Leadership), the partnership will spur more EIC initiatives throughout OVG event venues, including Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) training, Sustainable Event Professional Certification (SEPC) training, and other learning and development programmes. 💥What a Difference a Year Makes!💥 Exactly one year ago, I attended my first Darm conference with just my iPad in hand, stopping property managers with one line: “Let me show you something that will blow your mind.” That moment wasn’t just the start of Boom—it was the beginning of something that’s now making waves in the industry. Fast forward to this year’s Darm, and it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come. Over the past year, Boom has evolved from a promising idea to a force of disruption. While European conventions amplified our presence, this Darm event marked our true breakthrough in the US market. Property managers didn’t just listen—they understood the transformation Boom brings to the table. Winning the Battleground competition alongside my brother Alon Goldboim was a surreal and deeply emotional moment. Building in public - part 1: Launching a multi-city event series. We’re going big on events this year. But, that doesn’t mean big events. The start: Highly curated 25-35 person dinners. Invite only. For the top event professionals in each city. Content designed for those attendees. Along the way, I’m going to share every detail. The biggest takeaway from part 1? We choose NOT to do this alone. We’re partnering with Sessionboard and Shiloh Event Management, Inc. Why not own the whole program? We could, but here’s what we gain with partners: 1. Reduced cost - splitting costs means we can hit more cities 2. Cross-sell opportunity 3. Expanded network to get the best minds in each city 4. Shared execution overhead (e.g. event design, guest list curtain) 5. Increased promotion when social selling There’s enough moving parts when one company is involved. We have 3. So how do we make this work? Each company will bring 3 people. That leaves room for 25 guests. As software companies, Accelevents and Sessionboard have more customers than an agency. So we are focused on curating the guest list. The Shiloh team is running point on planning and venue sourcing. Huong N. is a guru on event design so she’s building the program. Each week, we meet to review the guest list and content plan. Our first event is in D.C. on March 21st. Here are the other cities on our list: - Boston (my home town) - NYC - San Francisco - Chicago - Austin - Miami (my current town) - LA Drop a comment if you’re in one of these cities.
