In response, the Tbilisi Circular Labs (TCL), an innovative initiative supported by GIZ, is transforming the landscape of sustainability in Georgia. This project is part of the broader global effort known as “Circular City Labs,” which focuses on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while promoting economic viability and inclusivity, particularly for women entrepreneurs. By fostering a system where packaging can be returned, cleaned, and reused, TCL is poised to redefine sustainable practices in Tbilisi and beyond. Our recent expansion into Asia, my home continent, was a real full-circle moment 💚 And so pleased that in partnership with Carousell Group, Vaayu was able to highlight and promote the environmental advantages of second-hand purchases across multiple markets, showcasing how the circular economy can significantly lower carbon emissions and impact. The Circular Economy Impact Report by Carousell Group, powered by Vaayu’s comprehensive lifecycle data, quantified the lesser environmental impact of embracing more circular practices. At Muuse, we’re proud to be making a real difference in the fight against climate change. So far, we’ve saved over 50 tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions! That’s like driving an average car around the Earth five times or planting 800 trees. 🌍🌱 Our reusable packaging system has been shown to produce up to 81% fewer emissions compared to single-use disposables — thanks to our Life Cycle Assessment with Unravel Carbon. And at Our Tampines Hub (OTH) in Singapore, we’ve already saved 1.2 tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions since November 2022. With increased uptake, we could achieve savings of up to 21.3 tonnes of CO2 per year — the equivalent of 10 flights from Singapore to Toronto! It’s clear that reusables aren’t just better for the environment, they’re also a practical and impactful solution to reduce emissions and waste.
