I had the immense pleasure to attend and partake in this formative week long Plenary in Valladolid, Spain. With thanks to our hosts at UNE - Asociación Española de Normalización (ismael arribas, César Pérez-Chirinos, Belen Suarez Lopez) and Universidad de Valladolid (Luis Carro) With in-session and out-of-session activities throughout the week, we had many opportunities to drive forward key objectives: 1. to deepen our connections with EU counterparts including European Commission, INATBA - International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications (Emilio Davila Gonzalez, Barbora G., Ricardo Simoes) 2. to establish and nurture relations with financial institutions and service providers through the new joint working group between ISO Technical Committee 68 (TC68) Financial Services and ISO - International Organization for Standardization #TechnicalCommittee (TC307) #BlockchainDLT developing standards together in #DigitalCurrency. 3. Extend an invitation of global industry actors to present novel use cases for consideration in my current Project: ISO AWI 24878 New and emerging DLT use cases. Expertly moderated by my UK colleague Caroline Thomas, Convenor of TC307 WG6. 11 presentations were made on a variety of important topics. The authors and titles are listed below for interest. Arbitration in the context of new technologies, especially blockchain, faces unique challenges that require significant adaptations in traditional approaches. From the technical complexity of smart contracts to challenges in jurisdiction, privacy, and the rapid evolution of technology, arbitration professionals must be prepared to address these difficulties. Blockchain commercial arbitration associations, composed of lawyers, play a crucial role in this adaptation. Through continuous training, multidisciplinary collaboration, the development of secure and efficient platforms, and proactive updates to legal frameworks, these associations can help navigate the challenges of arbitration in the world of new technologies. The future of arbitration in emerging technologies will be defined by the ability of institutions and professionals to adapt and evolve. With a proactive and collaborative approach, it is possible to overcome these challenges and establish a solid and efficient framework for dispute resolution in the digital realm.

🌐 Blockchain Adoption in Spanish Enterprises: 1 in every 10 companies in Spain is working with blockchain. A recent study by EAE Business School and Blockchain Catalunya reveals that 10% of Spanish companies are now using blockchain technology. This growth is prominent not just in banking, where blockchain is primarily used to innovate, but across various sectors including healthcare, education, and supply chains. Interestingly, while 69% of respondents view blockchain as a strategic priority, only 23% see it as a main line of activity. This suggests that while the enthusiasm for the technology is high, its full and effective integration might still be in the developmental stage. This overview offers insight into how blockchain is steadily becoming a key player in Spain’s business and economic landscape, promising significant transformations worth watching.

It's gratifying to see the crypto universe and innovation becoming increasingly part of people's lives, especially in important areas like culture. The immersive exhibition "Decade of the Oceans - 1st National Cryptart Exhibition" has been at the CCBB - Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil in São Paulo since March 27, bringing together innovation, technology, and art. The theme was defined in partnership with the UN regarding the Decade of the Oceans, which runs from 2021 to 2030. Events like this show how Blockchain is increasingly present in our daily lives, becoming an accessible means of promoting culture.
