The interaction between a #protein and a dye can be monitored using #fluorescence lifetime measurements. While steady-state fluorescence is dependent on the concentration of the sample and illumination, and returns an averaged signal of all the fluorescence species, time‐resolved fluorescence provides an absolute measurement and unique life-time values for each fluorescence species in the sample.
