Dubai welcomed a record 17 million international visitors in 2023 🌍 Dubai recorded its best-ever annual tourism performance in 2023, with international tourist arrivals to the emirate increasing by 19.4 percent annually to 17.15 million, amid the continued expansion of its economy. Last year’s figure exceeded the previous record of 16.73 million visitors registered in 2019, according to the latest data published by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. Dubai’s ability to constantly generate diverse and refreshingly novel travel and tourism experiences catering to a wide range of visitors has been a key factor behind this exceptional performance. JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia has made a remarkable leap, climbing 15 places to rank 12th in global tourist spending for 2023, according to the latest UN Tourism report. This is the largest jump among the top 50 countries. The ranking follows a September report from the UN Tourism, which highlighted the Kingdom’s leadership among G20 nations with a 73 percent increase in international visitor growth and a staggering 207 percent rise in international tourism receipts from January to July 2024 compared to the same period in 2019. These achievements reinforce Saudi Arabia’s status as a premier global tourism destination, showcasing travelers’ growing confidence in the Kingdom's diverse and appealing offerings. The UNWTO praised the Kingdom’s tourism progress as a “significant milestone” in its quest to become a global leader in the industry. #AbuDhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030 has set ambitious goals that serve as guide to further drive the emirate’s growth as a premier global tourism destination. Abudhabi is keen to fulfill mission to significantly increase visitor figures from nearly 24 million in 2023 to more than 39 million by 2030, encompassing both overnight stays and same-day visits – leading to a 7 percent annual growth in tourism. This builds into the overarching plan for Abu Dhabi’s tourism and travel sector to contribute even more to the UAE’s GDP, from around AED 49 billion in 2023 to AED 90 billion annually by 2030. To achieve these objectives, DCT Abu Dhabi’s strategy will focus on 26 initiatives under four key pillars: Offering & City Activation; Promotion & Marketing; Infrastructure & Mobility; and Visa, Licensing & Regulation.
