This weekend, I passed an exam and earned a credential of a Professional Certified Coach from the International Coaching Federation. It was in the making for many months, putting in the hours both coaching clients and studying. The exam was about 3 hours long, and I Loved working through it, figuring out the right actions for 81 tough coaching scenarios. My first coaching certification (non-ICF at the time) dates back to 2004, and I’ve been in the field since then. Still, after 20 years of executive coaching, leadership development, and a PhD in the area of Management Science, I have learned a great deal working through the ICF program, being mentored and experimenting with new approaches to coaching.
