The fields of Bihar are buzzing with life as harvest season arrives, bringing a wave of joy, hard work, and celebration. Across the state, vibrant landscapes are filled with golden grains as farmers tirelessly reap the fruits of their labour. This time of year is especially significant in Bihar, where agriculture remains the backbone of the local economy and culture. In villages and rural areas, harvest season means more than just gathering crops—it’s a time of unity and shared purpose. Families and communities come together to work in the fields from sunrise to sunset, ensuring the crops are collected and stored. You can see these beautiful grain stores in this picture. The harvest season is also marked by festivals like Chhath Puja, one of Bihar’s most important celebrations. People gather by rivers and water bodies to pray and make offerings to the Sun God, thanking him for the abundant harvest and seeking blessings for prosperity. This festival holds a special place in the hearts of Biharis, symbolising hope, faith, and reverence for nature. Yet, alongside the celebrations, many families face the reality of migration. Economic challenges often push labourers from Bihar to seek work in other states, leaving behind their villages and loved ones for months at a time. During harvest season, this absence is especially felt, as some family members return to help in the fields while others remain away, working to support their families from afar. The resilience shown by these migrant workers, who contribute to economies both within and outside Bihar, is a reminder of their essential role in India’s workforce. As we celebrate this harvest, let’s recognise the hard work and sacrifice of Bihari farmers and labourers. This season, let’s honour not only the abundance of the harvest but also the determination of those who work tirelessly at home and far away. Their efforts feed and sustain us all. The BJP has rejected India's ranking of 111th position out of 125 countries in the Global Hunger Index, and its bhakts have dismissed it as propaganda against Bharat Mata. But... Now, the Swadeshi report has come out and the women and child development minister from the Modi government herself has revealed in Parliament that nearly 60% of children under the age of 5 in the country are suffering from severe malnutrition. According to the data, among children under 5 years of age: • 36% are stunted • 17% are underweight • 6% are wasted The data indicates that Uttar Pradesh ranks first in stunting among children, while Madhya Pradesh is at the top for underweight children. This highlights the deplorable living conditions in BJP-ruled states and exposes the reality behind our touted $5 trillion economy. It reminds me of another fake promise of Moti to make India malnutrition-free by 2022. In reality, malnutrition has only worsened, with over 30% of the population in Gujarat, Rajasthan, MP, and UP unable to afford three square meals a day. Had this been any other country, it would have likely sparked a revolution. However, in a country with semi-literate blind bhakts, you can simply chant 'Hindu Khatre me hai' and get away with even the most egregious wrongs. One of the biggest challenges of being a migrant Bihari is the struggle of going home and coming back. While I can't speak for the rest of the country, I estimate that around 5-7 million Biharis live in NCR and nearby areas. If even 10% of them decide to head home for the holidays, imagine the situation 😐. Seats are getting booked even before the announcement of special trains. Despite this, people will still want to go back home. My guess is around 25,000 cars will leave NCR for Bihar between Diwali and the Chhath Kharna rituals. The roads are good, and it only takes about 12 hours to reach the Bihar border from Delhi. The problem is, people get their leave from work so late that they're confused about booking tickets. Non-Bihari bosses understand the importance of Chhath but don’t fully grasp the emotions tied to it. We rarely address the root of the issue. The large-scale migration from Bihar will only slow down when small, medium, and micro industries are present in every region of the state. But who will listen to me?

In the early days of Mattancherry port, Kerala, the Chaappa system dictated the lives of dockworkers. Under this oppressive colonial practice, laborers were granted work based on a metal token, or "chaappa," which often fell into the hands of a select few. The rest were left in uncertainty, their ability to work — and survive — determined by a system that controlled the labor force and created insecurity. While this overt form of labor control has long since vanished, the principles behind it are still embedded in the modern economy. Today, the monetary system continues to shape people’s lives through job-based oppression. Just as the Chaappa system restricted access to work, the current economic structure traps many individuals in jobs not for personal fulfillment, but for mere survival. As industries pursue profit maximization, workers find themselves locked in a cycle of low wages, stagnant opportunities, and financial dependence. But this does not have to be our future. With the rise of automation, we stand at a critical juncture: instead of fearing job loss and further deepening economic inequality, we can choose to see automation as a liberating force. Automation, if applied with everyone’s welfare in mind, can free humanity from the necessity of mundane, exploitative jobs. This could allow for more creativity, purpose-driven work, and a redistribution of wealth that benefits society as a whole. To unlock this potential, we need to change our mindset. Instead of seeing work as the only pathway to survival, we must redefine the purpose of work in a society where automation can meet our basic needs. The key lies in decoupling survival from employment. We can build a world where technology empowers people, granting them the freedom to pursue education, creativity, and community involvement rather than trapping them in jobs designed to fuel an unsustainable economy. Let's explore how we can evolve beyond the job-based oppression rooted in the monetary system, taking lessons from the past, such as the Chaappa system, and reimagining a future that embraces automation for the welfare of all. By shifting our focus from profits to people, we can create a society where human dignity and freedom are prioritized over economic exploitation. #economy #jobs #oppression #automation #AI #welfarocracy

Indian elections are over and PM Modi stays on power for a third term. Have a vision to replant double the trees destroyed in building the super highways. 2. No person should go hungry for want of food. Promote feeding the hungry in all religious places. Let them compete for punyam instead of fighting with each other. 3. Ensure catchment of water and raise water table to max 25 feet deep. 4. Scientific analysis, testing and certification of all Ayurveda, Siddha and traditional medicine to western standards of testing. This will reduce quacks and increase trust and acceptance for the tested medicines. 5. Remove human intervention in cleaning hazardous wastes. Improve industrial safety standards in general 6. Educate public in driving safety and orderly. Reduce need to honk.
