When your child turns up to an exam it shouldn't be like a surprise party. They should know: What topics are covered Structure of the questions How long for each section How long to spend on each question Understanding the power of the mark scheme is so important. Pupils who allocate the same time and effort on a 12 mark question as a 4 mark question are the ones who run out of time. Ask them this "What's on Paper 1 English Language and how many marks do you get for the writing section?" Your child should have an overview of absolutely all their exams. Answer... WE DID IT - Year 11s have successfully completed Term 1a! Despite the challenges, my top set class has excelled, completing 40% of their Literature and Language coursework. They have produced exceptional work and honed their skills with timed essays every Monday. Additionally, some have gone the extra mile with Wednesday morning stretch and challenge interventions. A great end to the term as we gear up for mock exams after a well-deserved half-term break.
