Recognizing and understanding our patterns is indeed crucial for personal growth and mental well-being. When struggling through life’s ups and downs, it can be challenging to pinpoint exactly what is bothering us. Instead of blaming our environment, we should start by observing our own patterns. Are we feeling weak, fearful, angry, or anxious about what is happening in our daily lives? By identifying why the same pattern or incident repeatedly affects us, we can begin to understand and address the underlying issues. This self-awareness is the first step towards meaningful change and personal growth. Once we recognize the patterns in our emotions and behaviors, the next step is to take actionable measures to address them. Here are some steps you can take: 1.REFLECT AND UNDERSTAND: Identify the roots and triggers of your patterns. 2. SET GOALS: Define clear, achievable goals to change these patterns. 3. DEVELOPING COPING STRATEGIES: Use mindfulness, exercise, journaling, or talk to someone. 4. PRACTICE SELF COMPASSION: Be kind to yourself and celebrate small victories. 5. SEEK PROFSSIONAL HEALTH: Consult a psychologist or counselor if needed. 6. IMPLEMENT ROUTINE CHANGES: Integrate supportive practices into your daily routine. 7. MONITER PROGRESS: Track improvements and adjust strategies as needed. 8. BUILD SUPPORT SYSTEM: Surround yourself with supportive people. #RecognizePatterns #MentalHealthAwareness #StressManagement #SelfCare #PositiveLiving

Correct Decision Making
99 out of 100 People Make the Worst Decisions When They Are Stressed. As a psychologist, I've witnessed firsthand how stress can completely twist our decision-making process. Besides this, the toll it takes on your mental health is scary. In my practice, every once in a while I am faced with patients who are tough to handle and put me under the pump. Let’s be real - making decisions under pressure is a whole different game. When the heat is on, your brain starts playing tricks on you. First off, there’s this tug-of-war in your head. One side screams “Fight or run!” while the other wants to think things through. Problem is, the fight-or-flight response usually wins, pushing you to act fast - sometimes too fast. Then there’s cognitive narrowing. Ever find yourself so focused on one solution that you miss the bigger picture? That’s your brain in stress mode, narrowing your focus to what feels urgent, but often missing out on better options. It’s like having tunnel vision when you really need a wide-angle lens. And here’s the kicker - the illusion of control. Stress makes us think we’ve got more control than we actually do, leading to those “act now, think later” moments. You know, the ones where you leap before you look and hope for the best? Yeah, they are not always the smartest move. Oh, and don’t forget emotional memory - your brain’s way of dragging up past experiences, whether they’re relevant or not. Stress makes you default to what’s familiar, not what’s right. It’s like playing an old hit on repeat when you should be exploring new tracks. So, how do you outsmart your own brain? Start with mindfulness - it’s like hitting pause on the panic button. And practice making decisions in stressful scenarios - think of it as a mental rehearsal for the real thing. Understanding how your mind works under stress means you can start making decisions that are quick but also clever. After all, in high-pressure situations, the smartest move is knowing how to keep your cool. #stress #mentalhealth #wellness #decisionmaking #psychology

Have you ever been told to just "shake off" negative emotions? It turns out, embracing them might be the healthier choice. Recent research delves into the profound impact our perspective on emotions has on our mental health. 🔸The power of perception: According to a study published in Emotion, individuals who habitually label negative emotions as "bad" or "inappropriate" tend to experience more anxiety and depression symptoms. Our judgments of our feelings can exacerbate our distress, leading to prolonged suffering. 🔸The downside of denial: Suppressing or avoiding emotions can be counterproductive. Research shows that attempting to suppress feelings can intensify them, leading to increased distress. It's like trying to hold a beach ball underwater – it resurfaces with greater force. 🔸Making peace with feelings: Acknowledge that negative emotions are part of the human experience. Rather than condemning them, view them with neutrality or curiosity. Emotions are transient; they will pass with time. 🔸A shift in perspective: Accepting emotions doesn't mean resigning to undesirable situations. By freeing ourselves from constant critique of our feelings, we gain the clarity and energy to enact positive change in our lives. 🔸Cultivating emotional resilience: With practice and experience, emotional acceptance becomes easier. As we age, we tend to become more adept at handling our emotions, leading to improved well-being. Let's shift the mindset from "negative emotions are bad" to "emotions are valid experiences." #emotions #wellbeing #selfcare #personaldevelopment #leadership For further reading: https://lnkd.in/eguU49Qh Emily Willroth Iris Mauss Image: Frank Horvat

Today is #PositiveThinkingDay, we recognise the profound impact that mindset can have on mental well-being. While the phrase “think positive” may sound simplistic or even frustrating if said at the wrong time, research shows that the benefits of fostering a positive outlook are far-reaching. A recent study from the Journal of Positive Psychology found that people who practiced optimistic thinking experienced a massive 23% reduction in stress levels and reported higher overall life satisfaction. Positive thinking has also been linked to better cardiovascular health, stronger immune systems, and even longer life expectancy. But positive thinking isn't about ignoring challenges or pretending everything is perfect—it’s about resilience. It’s about recognising that while we can’t always control what happens to us, we can control how we respond. As mental health professionals, it’s critical we help our clients build this mindset alongside other tools for emotional regulation and personal growth. As Norman Vincent Peale once said, "Change your thoughts and you change your world." Let’s encourage ourselves and those we serve to embrace optimism, not as a way to avoid difficulties, but as a strength that helps us move through them. Remember, positivity is a practice. On this day, consider taking a moment to reflect on something that brings joy or gratitude. The more we practice, the stronger the muscle grows. #PositiveThinkingDay #MentalHealth #Resilience #WellBeing #MindsetMatters

Happy Sunday you gorgeous lot! 😘 This morning I was late to my weekly planning session with Sarah Marney from Beyond Realms Admin Services. I didn’t sack it off, still went because getting something done is better than having nothing done at all! That ‘perfection’ monkey use to have such a hold of me and my life that it would paralyse me on a daily and weekly basis. I was stuck, frozen in my head and body. When you realise that ‘good’ is good enough the lightbulb 💡 goes on and you create space for yourself in your life and head. I love seeing that lightbulb moment in clients. I ask clients to repeat their brilliance, not their mistakes……….why? ⬇️ Perfection? It’s a myth! Chasing perfection isn’t just exhausting – it’s harmful for your mental health. The brain is wired for progress, not flawlessness. When you obsess over getting everything just right, you trigger your stress response, releasing cortisol, which leads to burnout and anxiety. Meanwhile, focusing on progress activates the brain’s reward system, boosting dopamine, which keeps you motivated and feeling good. So, ditch perfectionism, embrace the journey, and watch your mental health thrive. Remember, a little mess is where growth happens! Mental well-being is the foundation for manifesting your desires. Manifesting is a powerful practice that enables you to actively attract your desires into reality, and it works best when rooted in stable mental health. It’s important to remember that it’s perfectly okay not to have your life all figured out—especially in your 20s. In reality, very few people do. Don’t let societal expectations and pressures—now so commonly accepted as normal—make you feel otherwise. There’s no set timeline or finish line when it comes to sorting out your life, so don’t fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. Instead, start small. Focus on the simple tasks like waking up early to pray, exercising, watching your diet, applying for jobs, getting your CV ready, or working on your portfolio. These little wins will add up, bringing clarity to your purpose and guiding you toward the next step of visualizing your goals. When your mind is clear and balanced, visualizing your goals with focus and precision becomes much easier. Using all your senses in this process creates a vivid mental picture, making your desires feel real, and that’s essential for aligning with what you want to attract. Mental stability also plays a key role in practicing gratitude. It shifts your perspective from scarcity to abundance, helping you foster positivity. This alignment of mind and spirit makes it easier to receive the good things you’re trying to manifest. When you’re overwhelmed or anxious, it’s harder to feel grateful or open to new opportunities. Setting clear intentions and affirmations also requires mental clarity. A stable mind allows you to craft affirmations that are positive, specific, and rooted in the present. It helps you overcome limiting beliefs that might block your progress, building your belief in yourself and the manifestation process. Ultimately, good mental health empowers you to take action toward your goals. It builds confidence, resilience, and flexibility, allowing you to stay open to opportunities—even when they come in unexpected ways. A clear mind also helps you keep moving forward, even when faced with challenges. #ManifestYourDesires #MentalHealthMatters #MindfulManifesting #PositiveMindset #VisualizeYourGoals
