#NorSand and #SaniSand are two well-known models used to simulate the monotonic behavior of sand. While NorSand employs a single yield surface plasticity framework with an associated flow rule, SaniSand is based on bounding surface plasticity with a non-associated flow rule. Despite these distinct formulations, both models share similarities in their approach to simulating the monotonic behavior of sand.
