Great insights into the current recruitment challenges faced by housing associations! According to a recent survey conducted among large housing associations, 40% of respondents found it difficult to recruit housing professionals in 2023 compared to the previous year, while only 26% found it easier. The data also revealed that 36% of associations reported an increase in staff turnover over a 12-month period. Factors such as rural locations and flexible working preferences were cited as reasons for the struggle to find quality professionals. It's clear that many organizations are competing for a small pool of skills, which is encouraging many professionals to look towards the private sector. This report provides valuable insights into the current state of the recruitment market within the housing industry. It's important for organizations to take note of these challenges and work towards finding solutions to attract and retain top talent. #housingassociations #housingmarketupdates #socialhousing #housingjobs #recruitment

Local Councils are a sector often perceived as less appealing, for various reasons including salary usually, than the commercial sector; and yet a lot of smaller councils need to innovate and professionalise to remain viable. A CEO of a large NSW Council shared some of their approaches with me, to attracting and hiring from the private sector. Would love to hear your thoughts? #localcouncils #localgovernment #innovativehiring #strategicrecruitment #executivehire #executivesearch #localgovermentnewsroundup #NSWbusiness #QLDlocalcouncils #canberrabusiness
In a recent conversation with the CEO of a prominent NSW local council, they shared insightful perspectives around talent attraction and accessibility, particularly beneficial for smaller councils. Key insights included: --Emphasising unique value propositions to attract talent particularly from the commercial sector, where perceptions of working for a local council may be less appealing. --Promoting the appeal of steady income and flexibility for individuals with young families, attributes that local councils can offer more readily than a lot of corporate environments. --Adopting outcome-based hiring practices, enabling professionals transitioning from the private sector to potentially work fewer hours for a full-time salary, aligning with agreed and desired outcomes. --Removing constraints for local council staff to engage in additional income streams. --Facilitating access for smaller councils to a pool of experienced professionals through an "employment concierge" model, allowing them to leverage expertise without needing to hire. Within sectors perceived as less attractive, what innovative recruitment strategies approaches have you found to be successful? #localcouncils #localgovernment #innovativehiring #strategicrecruitment #executivehire #executivesearch #localgovermentnewsroundup #NSWbusiness #QLDlocalcouncils #canberrabusiness

Early exits... Scotland aren’t the only ones to suffer from leaving early, whether that’s staff turnover or being dumped out of the Euros. You can’t always avoid it, after all people will be people. You can have the perfect match on paper, that just isn't right once they're in post. But there’s things you can put in place to limit this. One of those is working with a trusted partner to find the right staff for your business. That’s where someone like StormX Recruitment - Accountancy & Finance/HR/ Office Support Specialist Recruiters can come in, we’ve worked with businesses across the home counties and London for a combined 65 years. Not just on filling vacancies, but on ways to improve staff retention, as well as your onboarding process. We may not be able to help Scotland qualify for the knockouts of a major tournament- we’re not miracle workers…. But we can do what we’re good at, which is finding good people for great businesses. If you’re looking to add to your team either now or are planning to for later in the year, drop me a message, I’d love to help. #recruitment #newjob #hiring #earlyexits #scotland #hertfordshirejobs
